Let's talk about LATEX balloons. Often I am asked why my latex balloons seem to last so much longer then others and they seem harder to pop. Some things you may have never thought of.
POPPING
Most of my end users are small children and the last thing we want is for them to be scared of these beautiful bouquets. I over inflate the balloon and then let out some helium allowing room for helium growth when temperatures change. Helium expands when heated.
Over inflating the balloon stretches the latex and if you stretch it enough the kids could sit on them and they still do not break.
My favorite - balloon releases into a room full of people with over filled helium balloons that were never pre stretched and a popcorn ceiling! Now this is a way to scare the daylight out of all your guests. pop, pop .....,pop, pop,pop .....pop pop, you get it!
Lasting Longer
This consists of a little Hi-Float. That's it just Hi-Float. Latex is very porous and allows helium to escape the balloon so we put in a little Hi-float to seal the the pores.
Now the difference with how hi-float is used is the key. Most places are in a hurry and just pump it in, give it a little squish and fill the balloon. They will last longer but not as long as if they spent a little extra time massaging the hi-float in.
You spend a lot of money and want to enjoy these beauties, sometimes for as long as possible. I massage the balloon thoroughly making sure all the area inside the balloon is covered making for the best seal, Then sometimes 2 weeks later I get the call "Why are these still here?" The answer is I am not in a hurry to race you out the door to serve the next customer. I take a limited amount of orders that are prearranged. I take a lot of pride into making the products I sell worth every penny.
