A planner/day-of coordinator and a venue coordinator have very different roles.

We’re often asked: “Do I really need both?” (We’ll let ChatGPT answer that one 😉)

Short answer? Yes—and here’s why.

A venue coordinator focuses on the space: making sure everything is stocked, the team is ready, and operations run smoothly.

Your planner? They’re bringing your vision to life—handling the details, timelines, and all the moving pieces so your day unfolds exactly how you imagined.

At The Meadows, we don’t believe in choosing one over the other. Too much gets missed when there’s only a venue coordinator. Simply put, no one person can be everywhere at once—especially on your wedding day (or in the months leading up to it).

“But you own the venue… how do you advocate for us?”

Because this isn’t just a business—it’s our dream. As a sister-owned, small-town venue, we care deeply about every couple who walks through our doors. We listen, we collaborate, and we make decisions with your experience at the center.

And here’s the difference: we don’t just coordinate—we can make the final call. That means we advocate for you in ways others can’t.

It’s time for a little front-of-house reintroduction ✨ (aka: the women making your wedding run flawlessly behind the scenes while you sip champagne)

The curvy golden goddess on the right is Kylie (my sister). She’s the mastermind behind venue setup, bar logistics, and staff management. On wedding days, she’s your venue coordinator—making sure everything runs as smooth as butter (and yes, we are emotionally attached to butter). If something goes wrong, she’s already fixed it before you even knew it existed.

The blonde divinity in the middle is Jocelyne. A true jack-of-all-trades with 20+ years in hospitality, she’s the reason the venue and property always look their absolute best. If it needs doing, she’s already done it… and probably better than you imagined.

And the shortie on the couch? That’s me. Your planner, project manager, creative, ceremony crier (yes, I will cry), and go-wherever-I’m-needed person. Think of me as your wedding-day safety net… but cuter.

In 2018, I moved back from Alberta with my boyfriend (now husband) to help our mom with her dream of catering weddings—and somewhere along the way, I accidentally built my own dream too.

I wanted to create a wedding venue that gives couples what they actually need: a place where everything is handled, so you can be fully present (and not answering vendor questions in your robe at 9am). A space that feels like home. A team that sees you, listens to you, and hypes you up appropriately.

From planning to food, drinks, décor, setup, and cleanup—we’ve got you. Truly. Because no two couples are the same, and cookie-cutter weddings are not our thing.

Whatever your vision looks like, we’re here to bring it to life with as little stress as possible—so when you look back on your day, it’s all smiles, no chaos 🤍

The food on your wedding day has to be delicious and plentiful, while also being safe and accommodating for you and your guests.

To make wedding planning easier on our clients, our menu is entirely free of any nuts as well as any shellfish. We will always accommodate any other allergies or dietary needs you and your guests require - we have experience with every allergy and dietary restriction out there!

Knowing that all of your guests will have a delicious and safe meal is very important, and just one more thing we can take off your “plate”.
