There is a book that has prompted me to explore the many varieties of edible plants available to us. This year, I grew a bush bean called Dragons Tongue.
On the top of the basket, you can see some fresh beans with the lovely coloring that I have read gives them their name.
Underneath are the dried pods.
The final picture is to compare the size and color of the fresh vs. the dry shelled beans.

I had the joy and good fortune to attend the last Sunday. I wish I had more time to stroll leisurely, but it was so great to finally get there!
In the first photo are some maple vinegar from , some sh*take mushroom plugs from , and some delightful pastries from .sweets . If you haven't been to this market yet, definitely give it a go!

We are back at the market!!
This week, we are bringing flavors from the streets of England - jacket potatoes, or baked potatoes, as we call them on this side of the pond.

I am so thrilled to announce a brewmaster dinner with this coming Saturday inside !

Pairing beer with food is something I have practiced professionally for over a decade, but Covid brought that to a sudden halt.

Thankfully, I am in the position to share that joyful work with the public once again.

I found some time in the week to do some foraging and go for a walk. This heat has felt pretty intense for me this summer. It was nice to have some leisurely activities outside. I'm going to make cider with the apples and preserve the grape leaves for later in the year. Does anyone have a dolmades recipe they want to share?

This week's menu is Mexican inspired! Choice of beef or vegetarian and both come with a cucumber salad. Last time we sold out before the end of market so make sure to come early! Also, we won't be back at the market until Sept. 5th. We hope to see you this week!

I had a productive morning helping harvest a variety of garlic called music for . What a magical food. There are so many dishes that will sing due to this garlic. See what I did there?

Here is today's harvest from the garden in order of appearance : chamomile, gooseberries, red currants and black currants. So fortunate to have access to these things. Definitely worth the wait!
