Club Championship weekend is always one of the highlights of the season—a true test of skill, composure and consistency, with our golfers competing for the title right through to the final hole.

Sunday delivered a demanding finish, with challenging pin placements putting an extra premium on precision. Our competitors stayed focused, battled hard and kept the leaderboard competitive until the very end.

⛳️ FROM THE SUPER | AUGUST REPORT

While Southwestern Ontario sleeps, the course is already in motion. This month, step into a Day-in-the-Life of our Turf Team and discover the dedication behind every round.

› 4:15 AM: Turf Team is in. Coffee first, then the plan.

› 5:00 AM: Wheels down. On the course. Checking green moisture levels, changing pins, spraying pesticide, fungicides and fertilizer where needed, and getting to work across every playing surface.

› 5:30 AM–11:00 AM: The daily transformation. From cutting and rolling to pin changes, irrigation, raking, edging, and the countless decisions that shape how the course plays.

› 12:00 PM: The afternoon brings irrigation repairs, projects, maintenance, and fine-tuning.

› 3:00 PM: Before the day is even finished, tomorrow is already on the board. Priorities are set, assignments are made, and the plan is in place.

Seven days a week. No shortcuts. No detail overlooked. 💪🏻 Because exceptional golf doesn’t happen by chance—it’s built before sunrise.

Battle of Gowanbrae 2026 🏆

On July 10-11, 38 teams across seven divisions battled through scorching temperatures (and even a Friday evening rainstorm) for two unforgettable days of competitive match play golf.

⛳️ FROM THE SUPER | JULY REPORT

This month’s update highlights improvements to flow, safety, and the small details that make a big difference out on the course.

❶ New wayfinding signage has been installed throughout the property to help members and guests navigate more easily, improve pace of play, and create a more seamless experience from the first tee to the final putt.

❷ The bridge on Hole 10 has undergone a complete rehabilitation, including new structural supports, deck boards, and railings, resulting in a safer, more stable crossing that meets the standards we strive to maintain across the property.

These projects reflect our ongoing commitment to investing in the details that elevate the playing experience and improve the enjoyment of every round.

Congratulations to Team Cunningham, who carded an incredible 17-under-par to capture this year’s Annual Four-Man Scramble title on Saturday!

With a field of 96 golfers and a series of challenging (and creative!) pin placements throughout the course, the day delivered plenty of friendly competition, memorable shots, and great golf from start to finish.

Three in a Row 🔥

The annual SMGCC Ryder Cup delivered another memorable weekend of competition on June 6th and 7th. Following a hard-fought Saturday, the Young Guys seized control on Sunday, defeating the Old Guys 20–12 to claim their third consecutive Ryder Cup title and match last year’s final score.

Congratulations, gentlemen, on an outstanding three-peat and another year of Ryder Cup bragging rights! 🏆⛳
