Congratulations to our Three-Man Scramble champions, who carded an impressive 11 under par on Sunday!

Patrick Grogan, our resident Aussie chef, teamed up with Bo Jackson and Joel Carlberg, and some incredible putting throughout the round got the job done. Way to go, gentlemen!

⛳️ FROM THE SUPER | OCTOBER REPORT

Our final report of the 2026 season is all about fall golf and setting the course up for next year. The greens have been getting great feedback lately, and cooler, drier weather is keeping them firm and fast as we head into the last weeks of the season.

Here's what's coming up on the course:

❶ Hole 9 green surrounds renovation, October 20 to 23. is helping us rebuild the surrounds from the ground up, with a new soil profile and fresh sod.

❷ Greens aeration, October 27 (Back 9) and October 28 (Front 9). With sand worked in before and after, only 9 holes will be playable on each of these days.

❸ Front 9 fairway aeration with , October 29 and 30. The front 9 will be closed while the work is completed.

❹ Aerwaying the full course, tee to green, starting November 1. Our goal is to improve drainage, setting us up for a strong start next spring.

And that’s a wrap on the 2026 league season! ⛳️🏆

Our Men’s League closed out the year with a scramble, a prime rib dinner, and a huge prize table. Congratulations to Team “Chmack it Long,” led by Bill Chmura, who stayed consistent all season and dominated the playoff scoring!

Our Ladies League wrapped up Tuesday with a fun 9-hole scramble, a great meal, and prizes and goodie bags for all. A huge congratulations to our winning team of Lorrie Boos, Marion Canning, Joanne Kavelman, and Eleanor Marris-Rogers, who took the top spot with a 35!

Thank you to every golfer who showed up week after week. See you back on the course next spring! 🏌🏼‍♀️🏌🏻‍♂️

⛳️ FROM THE SUPER | SEPTEMBER REPORT

This month’s update introduces the newest equipment to join our Turf Team and how it’s helping us keep the course moving through changing weather. After going from drought to more than 12” of rain in just three weeks, the added capability has been especially valuable as we navigate slower drainage and rapid grass growth. With the course recovering and fall ahead, we’re putting the new equipment to work where it matters most.

❶ A new Steiner Rough Mower allows us to more effectively maintain the detailed areas around tees, greens, and the tighter spaces surrounding the many trees across the property, where precision is especially important.

❷ Three Cushman Haulers replace our retrofitted EZ-Go carts, providing the Turf Team with a purpose-built fleet designed to better handle the volume and variety of materials moved across the property.

❸ A new range picker replaces a unit that had reached the end of its life, helping keep the practice facility open and accessible to golfers while readily available replacement parts allow for faster maintenance and repairs.

Three in a Row 🔥

The annual SMGCC Ryder Cup delivered another memorable weekend of competition on June 6th and 7th. Following a hard-fought Saturday, the Young Guys seized control on Sunday, defeating the Old Guys 20–12 to claim their third consecutive Ryder Cup title and match last year’s final score.

Congratulations, gentlemen, on an outstanding three-peat and another year of Ryder Cup bragging rights! 🏆⛳
