Hi Everyone!
I apologize to anyone waiting for a response if you have reached out to book services. This past year was one of big changes and I needed to take the time to evaluate.
JLS has organically scaled back over the past 5 years as a result of Covid, DJs retiring and life just moving forward. I went out into the "real world" and got a full-time job for the first time in almost 14 years back in 2023 and that career opportunity took me down a path I could never have envisioned.
That is why, with the most heavy of hearts, our 15th season will be our last. We have had the most amazing experiences celebrating with each and every couple and client over these years - some of whom have become our friends! We have made lasting connections with some of the best venues and vendors this province has to offer. We have been able to donate services to many community groups and bring joy through great music!
When JLS started, it was on a whim at a the Devotion Wedding Show. What started as a hypothetical conversation weeks before turned into a name and a logo and pricing overnight and we could have only imagined how far we would end up going! From basic gear and a couple dozen gigs to countless gear upgrades and more bookings than we could keep up with! I felt horrible every time the response was "We're unavailable for your date".
To our current bookings:
Your dates are secure and I will 100% be dancing it out behind the booth with all of you! Rest assured that we would never bail on business.
To those waiting to book:
Our dates will be quite limited and I will reach out this weekend to confirm if your requested date is possible.
To our business clients:
Christmas and Holiday banquets will still be open for booking. I will reach out to you all individually in the weeks ahead to give you the first opportunity to reserve your date.
Lastly, I need to express my unwavering gratitude to those who helped build JLS to what it is today.
To Robert French who was there from day one at that show. There's nothing I haven't already said to you over the years. You were like family before we started and you're still like family today. Thank you seems small for everything you brought to JLS.
To Rob Dowden, you jumped on board and brought your expertise to the business as well as many clients who stuck with us even after you started to scale back. I can't thank you enough for the laughs and the endless support.
To Jay Taylor who had a short run with us but an impactful one nonetheless! Your ability to hold a dance floor despite your vision challenges always put me in awe!
To Brad Crocker who was the second to last one left. Thanks for joining us and even though Covid put a damper on your first little while at JLS, your dependability and willingness to always learn something new is why you are successful on your own today!
To my husband Rob Jordan, it's never easy being in business with your spouse. We often disagreed and I know that fell back on the other guys at times. Your determination to make this work for our family despite the many weekends sacrificed and the late nights is commendable.
I can't thank you all enough for the education you have provided me to become the DJ I am today. I carry little pieces of you all every time I'm behind that booth. You are some of my most favoutrite people and there aren't enough words to cover how deep my gratitude truly goes.
To the handful of other local DJs who helped us in a pinch - this community is one that, despite a few tensions here and there, takes care of their own. It really meant a lot to have your support and we will always be happy to drop your name to those in need.
This has been a hard decision that i have weighed every pro and con over, but one that I feel make the best sense for myself and my new life goals.
