Thinking about starting your own business but don’t know where to begin? This post is for you. 🤍
When we started building NewSense Flowers, we had an idea, a vision, and a lot of determination — but starting a business also means navigating registrations, requirements, permits, funding opportunities, and many things you may have never dealt with before.
And this is where having the right people beside you makes an incredible difference.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to Metro Business Opportunities (MBO) Metro Business Opportunities and the Association for New Canadians (ANC) Association for New Canadians for the incredible support we have received from the very beginning — and continue to receive today.
A very special thank you to Lisa Guy from MBO and Darren Martin from ANC.
From understanding how to properly register a business and what requirements we needed to meet, to navigating permits, exploring funding opportunities, and answering countless questions along the way — we have always had someone to turn to.
What makes this support so special is that it doesn’t end after one meeting or one consultation. Every step is supported. Every question matters. And when you don’t know what comes next, there is someone who can point you in the right direction.
Lisa and Darren, thank you for your professionalism, patience, encouragement, and genuine willingness to help. Thank you for believing in us and for being part of the NewSense Flowers journey. Your support has meant more to us than you probably realize. 🤍
And to anyone in Newfoundland and Labrador who has an idea for their own business but keeps thinking, “I don’t know where to start” — I’m very happy to share the contacts of the people and organizations who helped us take those first steps.
Sometimes an idea just needs the right support to become something real.
