This is your reminder — alone is not synonymous with not good enough. Alone is not a weakness, it is not something to be ashamed of. No, alone is a gift. It is a foundation, a steady ground within yourself that will be there whether or not you sleep beside the tired bones of another human being. Alone is knowledge, in yourself and your hopes. Alone is a ruthless dedication to understanding your heart and fighting for what compels it after years of allowing for it to be loved in halves. Alone is not lonely. Alone is not broken. Alone is anchoring, a healing — a reminder that the love you find within yourself will be yours forever, a reminder that you have the capacity to be your own home.

A Gentle Reminder

This past month I have taken a lot of time to be alone. Alone in my thoughts. Alone with myself. Or as alone as I can be under a roof with others and of course the dog named Sam. Looking back at my childhood I found peace in being alone. I’m not choosing alone because there is something wrong, just the opposite I think I am choosing alone because it is what feels right, at least for now. I still have plenty of room for the people I love old and new but I am discovering “that I have the capacity to be my own home.” I am not hiding within these 4 walls but rather embracing being home. 💕

Body Image Bootcamp is so much more than how you look.
BIBC is like a beautiful beach covered in glass. All of the most broken and shattered pieces becoming amazing shiny pieces of colorful sea glass as they wash up on shore. Sharp edges softening as we share, rough sandy parts smoothing with each hug or touch, dullness fading with each tear. In each of us the broken shattered pieces are the same. The who or what shattered or broke them may be different but the pieces reflect what is the same. The beautiful women whom I was blessed to share this journey with at BIBC supported and helped not only find the pieces of sea glass but they chose to pick them up and hold them close to their hearts. Choosing to see through eyes of compassion, empathy and love we each were able to pick up the pieces and polish them until each piece sparkled. I am so grateful to each of my Sol sisters for sharing their broken pieces so together we could uncover the beauty of sea glass within. I believe each woman, BIBC sister before us left a piece of sea glass behind so together they create a beautiful mosaic of sea glass that will continue to grow within & s big beautiful brave hearts so they can feel the beauty of the sea glass with in them, both theirs and ours. So they can know the beauty of their hearts creation.
I see you. I hear you. I love you. I stand with you. May you continue to shine brighter with every tomorrow than you did at BIBC.
I am so blessed to have shared this journey and am so grateful to the beautiful strong amazing women who so generously shared their broken pieces and left their beautiful piece of their sea glass in the mosaic that is being created within my heart. I will forever cherish it and allow it to reflect the beauty that is each one of you. It is because of you I am Becoming a beautiful mosaic and one bird freed.
We all have broken pieces but it’s thru those broken pieces we can create beauty from within❤️

Taking a moment from my life, stepping out of my comfort zone, talking to strangers, asking if I could photograph them, asking their name, smiling at them, sharing a lemonade with a no longer stranger, sharing your heart with someone you just met. Taking a moment changed me for more than a moment. Taking a moment might change you for more than a moment, it may change you for a lifetime.

I am forever grateful for the people I have been blessed to cross paths with. For for allowing me a place where I could clear space and open my heart not only to myself but to the people I meet along my journey. and thank you for allowing me to feel seen and loved and for opening my eyes heart to me. I know I still have a ways to go to finding me but the journey is a lot shorter now. ❤️

And if a cat and a rooster can eat breakfast together anything is possible.
