Join us this week for a special ecstatic dance! With the theme being “internal flame” everyone is encouraged to tune into what ignites them and to collectively tune into our primal and tribal nature. ⁣
⁣
Drums are encouraged in the space if anyone is feeling called to more rhythmic interaction.⁣
⁣
Together we will co-create another magical container of medicinal dance, and healing movement. Think organic and earthy with rooted mantra and feel-good vocals. ⁣
⁣
This week we have one of our resident DJs and organizers Bretton a.k.a. Soular Sound. This will be his last ecstatic dance set of 2025. He’s excited to share a specially curated, organic, tribal, and earthy rhythmic experience with you all.⁣

Joining him will be Mitchell Steinke, Mitchell is a world traveler and Certified Advanced Sound Healer. He has a passion for making the world a more peaceful place and the ability to bring harmony to your day. Because everything in our world is a vibration, sound healing recalibrates the vibrations of our daily lives and removes ‘dis-ease’, by bathing you in frequencies aligned to the 7 Chakras. This is a rare opportunity to participate in a sound journey that Mitchell learned directly from the Tibetan master in Nepal, with some Indian musical magic. He will also be jamming throughout the weekend.⁣

During this time of increasing darkness and temperatures decreasing, it’s so helpful to tap into this element of fire together in community. Bringing our warmth and light from within. Come join us in a practice that our ancestors did and keep fueling your inner flame. 🔥⁣

Ecstatic Dance & Sound Journey — “Ancestral Light” with DJ Miss Pidgeon
Wednesday, October 30 | Dance Temple Squamish
Join us for an evening of movement, music, and magic as the veil thins on Samhain eve. ✨If you feel like dressing up in costume, all is welcome.
This is Ashleigh’s first ecstatic dance set, a journey that has evolved throughout the year with sound calling Ashleigh deeper into her inner world, her voice, her heart, and her inner knowing.
She’ll guide a 90-minute dance journey through the sacred balance of dark and light, weaving tribal rhythms, celestial soundscapes, and heart-opening beats that invite our healed ancestors to dance through us.
We’ll begin in circle, grounding in with breath and intention, then open into freeform dance — a space to let the music move through you, however your body desires. Dance is medicine: a remembering, a release, and a celebration.
To close, we’ll drop into a beautiful live sound journey with Matthew and Ivy, transmuting the energy of the dance and leaving you in a blissed-out, peaceful state.
Come as you are, feel what’s alive in you, and move what needs to move.

THIS THURSDAY! Oct 9th 7-9pm

Bretton (Soular Sound) brings a balance of intricate and diverse flavors to his sets. As a an MC and DJ, he does his best to bring playfulness and liveliness wherever he goes. His relationship with nature and people vibrate peacefully and intentionally. He blends organic sounds and high-fun rhythms to create a journey for everyone around.

Sofie Heye is a multi-instrumentalist who is most known for her rhythms on the djembé, but she also plays guitar, didgeridoo and writes her own songs. She has performed on several Ecstatic dances and facilitated many djembé and expressive workshops for adults, children and Teambuildings. She has been drumming for many years and had several teachers who taught her traditional West African Rhythms.

Gin Perry is a multifaceted, multidisciplinary artist and facilitator. Owner of Shala yoga in Squamish, she is a teacher, trainer, a ceremonialist and a musician who engages in shamanic arts.
As a student of Nada Yoga, the yoga of sound, she is deeply inspired by and curious about how sound and vibration creates and shapes our experiences.

She believe’s that the body is an instrument to be tuned so you can create your life’s song. She aspires to walk the beauty way in all ways.

A purveyor or funk, disco, house and boogie beats is bringing vibes to the dance floor, strictly for the love. Fueled by soulful vocals, old school bass lines and the glory of ivory rhythm, DJ For the Love will move your b***y and fill your heart with the energy the thrive 🫶🏻

This week we have the incredible Sarah Etherington joining us from Salt Spring Island!!! and we are hosting the dance outdoors at Sp'awk'us Feather Park at the Squamish Waterfront! We have a new high quality sound system as well, so many reasons to come out to dance!!

Bio:

Sarah Etherington has been a part of ecstatic dance communities globally for 25 years and was invited to take the helm of the Salt Spring Dance Temple collective in December, 2021. Sarah brings a keen somatic awareness to her sets and has a unique ability to infuse her joy, unleashing the wild on the dance floor. Sarah’s sets are a musical tapestry of sultry beats, deep liquidy bass, polyphony tracks that cultivate a wide range of movement, joyful connective world beats and loads of percussion. Sarah creates journeys with long peaks, sweet surprises and delicious landings. Sarah loves to join the dancefloor while playing and nurture the vibe with her wild unabashed joy.
