Just a little health update…
I wasn’t going to post this on my business page, but here we go…
The last few weeks have been a whirlwind and after chatting with several nurses, at the London health sciences centre, I just wanted to share my story in hopes that it might help someone else along the line… they mentioned that my story should be more common than it is, but some let things go on for way too long…
Also to also shine light on the symptoms that have led to this diagnosis. Because they weren’t typical and they weren’t text book but they were what they were.
Last Thursday we found out that I have a brain tumour.
It is a Benign Meningioma & it was Operable (thank goodness).
It is now partially gone as I have already undergone brain surgery and made it through and am back home.
No idea how long I have had this, but I’ve been taking myself to doctors and the ER for months trying to get something figured out, because there was obviously something wrong. (The surgeon said it had to have been growing for years)
I had to get more serious when my vision was affecting my ability to drive or even clearly see the faces of my girls.
I haven’t had severe headaches, no neck pain, no nose bleeds, no vomiting.
Just very high blood pressure along with what I thought was vertigo and an ear infection.
It didn’t present in the typical way that a brain tumour would, but continuing to advocate for myself finally lead me through different doctors and to an ophthalmologist who finally ordered me a ct scan.
Definitely nothing normal about this whole situation, but we will get through it all and I’m lucky to have Bob, my girls and my family and unwavering support from friends by my side, we wouldn’t have been able to
