Started in the summer of 2005 in an effort to build musical community and create a great reason for friends to get together annually to share music and good times, Sookapalooza has flourished into an event people talk about all year round. On a small stage nestled amongst the trees behind the 17 Mile House Pub, every year these same friends work tirelessly to create an environment where people can
let loose and celebrate: summer, music, friendship and community. Although small compared to many music festivals, the joy you get from listening to and participating in live music is not measured by the size of the event you are at or the size of the stage you are on, just the feeling you get and the memories you make. The list of bands and artists that have played at Sookaplooza over the years includes: The Dirt, Relics Jetboat, Sabrina Kufner, Todd Richard and the reluctant cowboys, Chris Mackenzie, the Tractor Grease Folk, Quoia, Jesse Roper, Cannibal Bob, the Robbie Aylewsorth Band, Deevin Avaeris, Sweetleaf, The Brown Paper Baggers, Johnny Galactic, Zac Doeding, Smells Like Grandpa, The Rhythm Miners, The Butterfly Jam Band, Tom Sparrow, F.M.O.D., Handsome Distraction, The Drunken Poets, Erogenous Jones, Colebrook Shepherds, Doja and more.
