🚨 A Friendly Reminder About Our Community Centre Dumpster 🚨

⁉️⁉️ This is NOT a public dumpster! ⁉️⁉️

❗️However we understand that from time to time people may have extra household garbage to dispose of, and we'd much rather see it disposed of properly than dumped in our ditches or the bush. However, if the dumpster is full, please wait until it has been emptied before bringing your garbage back.

As you can see in the photo, leaving garbage or other items beside or leaning against the dumpster creates a problem. Waste Management will not collect garbage left outside the dumpster. If they do empty the bin, anything leaning against it can fall underneath as it's lifted. The dumpster is then placed right back on top of those items, leaving garbage scattered around the area.

We'd like to ask everyone's help in keeping the area around the community centre clean.

That being said please read the following:

🚫 Do not leave bags, furniture, or other items beside the dumpster.

🚫 Do not place garbage or other items on top of the dumpster. These items will not be collected and can create additional safety and cleanup issues.

📦 Break down cardboard boxes and make sure all garbage fits completely inside the dumpster so the lid can close properly.

Your cooperation helps keep our community centre clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone while avoiding unnecessary cleanup costs.

🛹 Skateboard Equipment Now Available at the Skead Community Centre!

A huge thank you to one of our generous local residents for donating skateboard equipment for everyone in our community to enjoy! Your kindness and support help make our community centre an even better place for kids, youth, and families to get outside, stay active, and have fun.

The skateboard equipment is available at the basketball court, so grab your helmet and come check it out!

We ask everyone to please: 🛹 Treat the equipment with care. 🗑️ Help keep the court and surrounding area clean. 🤝 Be respectful so everyone has the opportunity to enjoy it.

Thank you again to our amazing donor for giving back to the Skead community. We truly appreciate your generosity!

We have 1 day to go! We're getting excited as we count down to our upcoming Blueberry Pancake Breakfast!

No jokes!!!! We won! Thank you everyone who voted whether it was once or once daily!

This winter, the City of Greater Sudbury partnered with Coca‑Cola Canada to celebrate our outdoor rinks. From February 2 to March 27, residents cast their votes for their favourite rink for a chance to win $5,000 in support.

The results are in – the prize will be awarded to the City on behalf of the Poupore Rink in Skead. This funding will help support ongoing maintenance, future upgrades and enhancements that will elevate the rink experience for local families.

Cet hiver, la Ville du Grand Sudbury s'est associée à Coca-Cola Canada pour mettre à l'honneur nos patinoires en plein air. Du 2 février au 27 mars, les habitants ont voté pour leur patinoire préférée afin de tenter de remporter une aide financière de 5 000 $.

Les résultats sont tombés : le prix sera remis à la Ville au nom de la patinoire Poupore à Skead. Ce financement contribuera à soutenir l'entretien courant, les futures rénovations et les améliorations qui permettront d'enrichir l'expérience des familles locales sur la patinoire.
