šŸŽØ Four Friends Having Fun: September 4–10 at the ArtSea Gallery
Daily, 10am–4pm • Tulista Park, Sidney, BC

Step into a week of colour, creativity, and pure artistic joy at the ArtSea Community Arts Council Gallery at Tulista Park in Sidney.

From September 4–10, the Gallery transforms into a lively working studio as Lois Kissinger, Karen Wilk, Shirley Sarens, and Linda Butcher, the Four Friends Having Fun, bring their art to life right in front of you.

šŸ–¼ļø What to Expect
These four artists don’t just display their work, they set up shop. Watch them paint, experiment, and create throughout the week. Acrylic, mixed media, watercolour, oil… their table is always full, their brushes always moving, and their energy is contagious.

They often finish several new pieces by week’s end & you might even see a painting come to life from first stroke to final flourish.

šŸ“ Make a day of it: Visit the Gallery, stroll the Sidney waterfront, grab a coffee, and enjoy the Peninsula at its creative best.

Nature’s Symphony: A Celebration of the Natural World continues this week at the ArtSea Studio in Tulista Park, and it’s been a beautiful late‑summer favourite.

Artist Donna Dubock brings a lifetime of global inspiration into her work shaped by years spent in the U.K., Italy, Spain, Australia, and now Canada. Much of her art begins on the water, sketchbook in hand, as she sails around these magical islands. Her shoreline studio, alive with wildlife, adds movement and energy that flows directly into her paintings.

Visitors have been especially drawn to her abstract mixed‑media pieces, each with a subtle touch of realism and a sense of place. Donna sees art‑making as a lifelong process, continually exploring new techniques to keep her work fresh, curious, and evolving & you can feel that spirit in every piece.

Drop by before the show closes on September 3, 10am to 4pm daily, to experience this vibrant celebration of nature and the places that shape us.

This week at the ArtSea Studio, we welcome Donna Dubock for Nature’s Symphony, an exhibition shaped by a life lived across continents and coastlines. Donna’s work is deeply influenced by the places she has called home, the U.K., Italy, Spain, Australia, and now Canada and by the wildlife and shorelines she sails past with her sketchbook always close at hand.

Working primarily in abstract mixed media with touches of realism, Donna creates pieces that feel both atmospheric and grounded. Her shoreline studio, alive with the comings and goings of birds and marine life, inspires much of the movement and energy in her paintings.

Donna believes art‑making is a lifelong process, continually exploring new techniques to keep her work fresh, curious, and evolving. Nature’s Symphony celebrates that spirit, a vibrant, textured tribute to the natural world and the places that shape us.

Come experience this beautiful, exploratory exhibition all week at the ArtSea Gallery, in Tulista Park, Sidney BC

Georgia, our beloved 16 foot Humpback Whale lantern, was truly a labour of love. šŸ’™šŸ‹āœØ

In the first photo, you’ll spot Artists Heather Priest and Vickie Wallace working behind the scenes, shaping Georgia’s glow with patience, artistry, and a whole lot of heart. Jennifer Witvliet, Artistic Director and Vickie Wallace are in the second picture. Missing in action but absolutely essential to the build is Eloise Meredith. The third picture shows Georgia in full light.

It took 5 hula hoops, 3 pool noodles, giant googly eyes, and what felt like 50 hours of creative labour, plus spray paint everywhere, Hands! Hair! Legs! to bring Georgia to life. And every moment shows in her magic.

Thank you to this incredible team for the imagination, dedication, and joyful chaos that made Georgia swim through the Salish Sea Lantern Festival.
