More workshops will be offered in December and in the New Year! Register early, numbers are capped to facilitate the workshop effectively.

Volleyball Canada requires all head coaches to have a minimum of Development Coach Workshop to earn their Trained status for VC Nationals. Similarly, Volleyball Alberta has the same NCCP requirement for eligibility for Provincial Championships.

Long time member of your , Dan Tymko recently received a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer and needs your help.

Throughout his 30+ year firefighting career Dan has been exposed to extremely toxic environments protecting his community, including one fire in which over 50% of firefighters later developed lung cancer or pulmonary fibrosis.

Unfortunately he was denied WCB coverage and recognition that his cancer was caused by his job because he admitted to smoking the occasional cigar around campfires!

Alberta's presumptive cancer legislation for firefighters excludes firefighters who have smoked even 1 to***co product over the past 10 years. In most other provinces occasional social smoking does not exclude firefighters from presumptive cancer coverage.

We are fighting to get Dan the recognition he deserves and to get the legislation changed so that no other Alberta firefighter has to go through what Dan is going through.
