Happy Heavenly 85th Birthday to Sam Young. ❤️

Today, we honour the man whose vision, determination and love of golf helped build the Shelburne Golf & Country Club that so many have come to know and love.

Sam’s legacy can be seen in every hole, every round played and every memory made here. Thank you, Sam, for creating something that continues to bring people together through the game you loved. You are deeply missed and fondly remembered today and always.

In a Winter 2019 In The Hills article about Sam, it was written: “The term ‘legend’ may be overused, but in the case of Sam Young, the description is well-deserved.”Those words feel just as true today as they did when they were written. Gone, but never forgotten.

Competing at the Ontario Summer Games is an incredible accomplishment, and we are so proud to see our junior golfers representing the Pepsi-Titleist Junior Tour and our community on such a big stage.

A heartfelt thank you goes to PGA Professional Jaymond Woods, whose coaching, leadership, and dedication helped prepare our team, and to Melissa Tamming for serving as chaperone and manager throughout the event. We also want to thank all of the parents and, of course, our amazing junior golfers for their commitment, sportsmanship, and hard work.

Finally, thank you to Doon Valley Golf Course for hosting, and to Golf Ontario for organizing such a fantastic event and creating an unforgettable experience for these young athletes.

Congratulations again to all involved, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this talented group! 🏌️💚
