A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to the Severn RAM Rodeo! 🐎

It was an action-packed weekend full of excitement and incredible rodeo moments. And the fun didn’t stop when the sun went down—it was a boot-scootin' great time at this year’s Rodeo Dance, too! 🤠

We can’t wait to see you again at our next big event — the Orillia Fall Fair, happening October 3–5! 🎡🍂

As a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, ODAS relies on the support of our amazing community to make events like this possible. We’re so grateful to our volunteers, board of directors, and staff who helped bring this year's rodeo to life! Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our organization.

Rodeo 101: Ba****ck Riding

Ba****ck riding is exactly what it sounds like—no saddle, no reins, just the rider, the horse, and 8 wild seconds. 🐎
It’s one of the toughest events in the rodeo. Riders hold onto a small handle with one hand and try to stay balanced while the horse bucks and kicks. It’s all about strength, timing, and staying in control when everything’s moving fast.

It’s raw, intense, and a fan favourite for a reason.

Rodeo 101: Pole Bending

Pole bending is all about speed and precision 🐎💨
Riders weave their horses through a line of poles in a zig-zag pattern as fast as they can—knock one over, and get a time penalty.

It’s one of the most technical events in the rodeo, and when a rider nails it, the crowd knows. It’s fast, it’s challenging, and it’s thrilling to watch!

Rodeo 101: Saddle Bronc

Saddle bronc is a rodeo classic. 🐎
The rider tries to hang on to a bucking horse for 8 seconds with style and control—no easy feat. It’s not just about staying on; it’s about rhythm and form. Judges score based on how well the rider moves with the horse.
It’s one of the oldest rodeo events and still a crowd favourite.
