What a thoughtful initiative for those struggling with cancer or having survived it.

Continuing on with our new Canoe Cares Project initiatives we are delighted to announce SURVIVOR SUNDAYS. Each Sunday we will buy an Ice Cream for those Recently Diagnosed with Cancer and those in Active Treatment (ie - Chemo, recent surgery etc). So come by and enjoy the splendour that is Canoe Beach and a small bit of kindness from Joyce and I.

Speaking of kindness, the man in this picture is my father Hugh. Two time cancer survivor and WW 2 veteran. This picture, alongside a beautiful young Joyce, was taken the night before our wedding 39 years ago. Dad passed from his cancer just weeks later. What very few know is that a long time, now retired Doctor from Salmon Arm, and friend of our family to this day, travelled with his wonderful wife to Calgary to keep Dad alive and out of pain to get through the ceremony. That is the type of kindness that the Canoe Cares Project hopes to personify in some small way. Thank you Ken & Adeline. You will be in our hearts forever. ❤️❤️
