Here at the Holstead we are preparing to serve you and answer your gardening questions.

We took the girls to the Island this past weekend. We always love seeing the Vanco fields in full bloom. They feel even more spectacular knowing that they are our future bulbs.

Getting our bulbs from Vanco is another way why we offer quality blooms to you. As our Tulip season wraps up- (we do have a few straight and mixed bouquets left)- we can’t help but reflect on what a season it has been!

Over 15,000 tulips were planted by hand, watered by hand, harvested by hand, chosen by hand, and made into beautiful bunches by hand. The quality we are able to offer is why our Tulips are the Best here in Tantramar.

They are fresh, long lasting, and beautiful.

We are already planning for 2027. More bulbs for more homes to be filled with the best Tulips in Tantramar. Thank you for supporting us in 2026.

If you get a chance check out the fields in PEI- it’s a tiny glimpse of the Netherlands. The view from the road is jaw dropping and something worth seeing.

If you want to walk among the tulips and see them up close be sure to check out the Tulip Festival here in Aulac at truemanblueberryfarms . Their blooms are spectacular right now- don’t wait- as the beauty of Tulips can only last so long- which is what keeps us wanting more.

Tulips are one of our favourite flowers- perhaps it’s our heritage, perhaps it’s their simplicity or perhaps it’s because of the gift of spring they bring when it is dark at 5pm.

As 2026 Tulip season ends- we rest in the beauty of the remaining blooms. Taking a pause to enjoy them and reflect in being thankful for all this season brought.

It is blooming crazy over here at the Holstead!

The herbs and veggies continue to be added to the Garden Center- before we know it they will be ready to be planted.

May is flying by! Continue to get those gardens ready so you can take full advantage of the nice weather when we have it. Because if there is anything I’ve learned about living here in the Maritimes… the rain loves to come unannounced!
