We are a small studio created for the love of flowers, our environment and people. We offer personalized floral subscriptions, bespoke handcrafted bouquets and arrangements using freshly picked flowers (April to October). We also provide specialty blooms to local floral designers through the Island Flower Growers wholesale online market.

Wondering when to dig them up, how to divide a clump without damaging it, which tubers are worth keeping, or how to store them successfully through winter? This atelier is for you.

Join me at Fleuris for an intimate, hands-on afternoon dedicated to understanding, dividing and storing dahlia tubers.

We'll take the time to explore the anatomy of a tuber clump, learn to recognize viable tubers and growing eyes, and practise the techniques needed to prepare them for winter storage.

Whether you're new to growing dahlias or have been growing them for years but still feel uncertain about this part of the process, you'll leave with greater confidence to care for your own.

Three one-of-a-kind sculptural vessels by Malene Foyd, available at the Orchard Boutique this week alongside a selection of her pottery.

Each of these pieces has its own form, scale and character, with the beautiful irregularities and marks of the making process that make Malene’s work so special.

One is softly rounded and generous, another wonderfully irregular and almost architectural, while the third has a broad, dark form balanced on a tall foot.

I filled the largest cream vessel last week with Japanese anemones and a few dahlias from the garden. I love how its proportions allow long stems to move so freely, but all three are beautiful enough to live as sculptural objects on their own.

There is just one of each.

A beautiful way to count down to the holidays.

It may feel a little early to be thinking about December, but not too early to tuck away something special for when it arrives.

Among Makiko of HIBI WORKS’ beautiful handmade pieces are these fabric Advent calendars, and we’re very happy to have just a few at the Orchard Boutique this week. Twenty-four numbered pockets are waiting to be filled with whatever you would like to make part of your own holiday tradition: little treats, handwritten notes, tiny treasures, activities or surprises.

What I especially love is that this isn't an Advent calendar for just one December. It is beautifully made to come out again year after year, with the possibility of filling it differently each time as your traditions evolve.

A beautifully moody autumn elopement for Val & Zac.

Every stem grown in the Fleuris orchard garden. End-of-September burgundy dahlias, rich foliage and touches of lavender and violet came together for this intimate forest elopement, designed entirely with what was growing in the garden at the time.

I loved seeing how the petite bouquet played against the black gown and veil, deep green suit and colours of the surrounding forest. A beautiful example of how a couple’s individual vision can be expressed entirely through locally grown, seasonal flowers.

Debra Prinzing is coming to Victoria this weekend!

As we celebrate Canadian Flowers Week, we're delighted to welcome Debra Prinzing, founder of the Slow Flowers movement and co-author of The Flower Farmers, to Victoria for two special events dedicated to locally grown flowers and the people who grow, design with and love them.

This Saturday, August 22, Debra will join us here at Fleuris for an intimate afternoon around the table in the orchard garden.

We'll talk about local flowers, seasonality, flower farming, what Slow Flowers and sustainable floristry really mean, and how we can make more thoughtful choices about the flowers we bring into our lives.

Whether you're a gardener, florist, flower grower or simply someone who loves flowers and wants to know more about where they come from, you're very welcome.

We'll enjoy an abundant spread of seasonal treats along the way, and with such a small group, there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas and spend time in conversation with Debra.

This Saturday, we'll gather from the garden and create small, expressive arrangements inspired by Wabi-Sabi, exploring line, movement, space and the beauty of each stem.

We're delighted to be part of the Saanich Flavour Trails Festival Weekend this Saturday, August 15!

We'll be opening the gates to the Fleuris orchard garden for a day of flowers, gardens and local makers, with three scheduled garden tours throughout the day.

Come visit the Orchard Boutique, join us for a pre-booked guided tour through the flower garden, and meet two wonderful local makers joining us for the day: ceramic artist Malene Foyd and Makiko of HIBI WORKS , with her handcrafted everyday waxed canvas goods.

There will be plenty happening throughout the day, and we'd love to welcome you.

Over the years, Fleuris has grown from a small flower-growing project into a specialty cut flower farm, floral design studio, orchard boutique, and wholesale flower business. At the same time, Dwight's garden maintenance business has continued to grow and evolve.

As both businesses have expanded, we've reached a point where we're looking for someone special to join us.

We're hiring a Flower Farmer & Gardener to help care for the flower farm, orchard, and gardens that are at the heart of our work.

This is a hands-on, year-round position for someone who genuinely enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in doing things well, and finds satisfaction in caring for plants and beautiful spaces.

We're not looking to fill a position quickly. We're looking for the right person.
