When someone we love dies, the way we express our love shifts. We no longer get to share everyday moments, exchange laughter, or hold them close. But love doesn’t disappear—it finds new ways to exist.

We love them by speaking their name, by carrying their memory into the world. We love them through the stories we tell, the traditions we continue, and the quiet moments when we feel their presence in the depths of our hearts.

Grief is love that has nowhere to go in the way it once did, so it reshapes itself. It becomes the way we honor them, the way we keep them close, and the way we live in a way that reflects their light.

We don’t stop loving them. We love them differently.

The holidays can stir up so many emotions when someone you love is missing. That heaviness you feel isn’t something to fix or push away—it’s a reflection of how much they mean to you.

You’re allowed to carry that love however you need to. Some days might feel harder than others, and that’s okay. You don’t have to have it all figured out.

Be gentle with yourself this season. Love has a way of staying with us, even when our hearts feel heavy. You’re not alone in what you carry.
