Cream products: as I get older I almost only reach for creams. Why?

They melt into the skin instead of sitting on top. They add an element of life to your skin. A glow from within.

These are just two of the easiest-to-use creams in my personal kit. Whether you’re new to creams or you’ve been at this a while, I think you’ll love them. I see a lot of people get nervous with cream products - the fear of blending, harsh lines, patchiness. These two are so user-friendly you’ll never turn back.

Not an ad. Just sharing things I actually use and love ❤️

Forty years as a financial advisor, and my dad’s advice still fits in four words…

Don’t spend your money.

It sounds simple, but it’s the part most people skip. You can’t always control what comes in, but you can usually control some of what goes out - and that gap is what becomes savings, a down payment, a retirement.

He never meant never spend. He meant don’t let every dollar leave as fast as it arrives. Set a portion aside from each paycheque, start small if you need to - give it time and watch it grow.

General information only, not individual financial advice. Please speak with a qualified advisor about your own circumstances.

Most people can name their account but not what’s inside it - and that makes sense. This isn’t something we get taught.

First: one company, or many? A stock is one business, and your outcome is tied to theirs. A fund is hundreds bought together, so no single one carries the weight.

Then, if it’s a fund: is someone choosing what’s inside? Some funds have a person picking. Others just copy a list. The industry calls these active and passive - and having someone choose costs more. There’s a person doing that work - researching, watching, adjusting.

Neither is wrong. It’s just worth knowing which one you’re in.

And if you’ve ever said “I’m invested” without being totally sure what that meant - that’s more common than you’d think.

Money isn’t confusing because you’re missing something. Nobody sits you down and explains it. That’s what we’re here for.

Many people have never actually run the numbers on the TFSA. It’s one of my favourite investment tools.

It’s been around since 2009. Max it out every year and you’ve put in $109,000. Invest that in a basic balanced fund at 6.5% - nothing clever - and you’re at roughly $191,000 today.

So about $82,000 is growth you never contributed. And none of it is taxable. No part of it. Not the dividends, not the capital gains, not the withdrawal.

That’s the whole point of the account. Most people never get there because the money just sits in cash.

Comment ROOM, and I’ll share a one-page PDF comparing the TFSA, FHSA and RRSP side-by-side.

Hypothetical illustration for educational purposes. Assumes maximum annual contributions from 2009- 2026 at a 6.5% annual return. Does not reflect fees and is not a guarantee of future returns.
