"A (dance) class should always be difficult and uncomfortable no matter what your technique level or how much experience you have." "
Otherwise, what would be the point?
You'd never make it to Harvard if you were already a lawyer.
You would never go to high school if you were already a doctor.
Dancers sometimes walk into class as if they know more than the teacher or with a barrier that takes the entire time of a class to break.
Dancers must enter dance classes and surrender to all their body awareness and ideas they already bring of themselves in order to incorporate the perspective of the teacher.

When you walk into a class, you shouldn't think, "Will they notice me?" "
You should be open and willing to listen and learn.

I hear students all the time saying they won't take this class because "it's too hard", "it's to fast", "I don't like that style", "I can't do that"...
This is the exact meaning of a class: learning to do something you don’t know how to do or feel uncomfortable doing.

It's the only way to be better at something.
Keep on learning.
Keep practicing.
Keep on practicing
It keeps on growing and growing.
