Calyx Floral Design is an internationally published floral design team based in Red Deer, Alberta. Owner and principal designer Travis Mills began her career as a 14-year-old student working part-time in a flower shop and it bloomed from there! She went on to get her degree in botany, but her true passion was design. The name Calyx Floral Design is inspired by her background in botany. Calyx is a

botanical term for the protective layer around the petals of a flower. From working at Thomas Hobbs Florist in Vancouver to opening her own floral studio in 2007; Travis has continually surprised people around her with amazing creativity, style and attention to detail. Never afraid to push boundaries or break floral rules, her desire is to create the most astonishing flowers for her clients and delivering beyond their expectations. Calyx Floral Design has evolved into a full floral studio with a team of creative designers specializing in weddings and events. A range of services are offered, from custom floral design, build-a-bouquet packages, floral workshops, seasonal designs, outdoor dΓ©cor and special arrangements perfect for a loved one. Travis and her team are passionate about what they do, from lavish over-the-top tablescapes to adorable floral crowns and jawdropping bouquets. White, fluffy and full of texture 🀍 We loved creating the florals for this beautiful day. Layers of hydrangea, roses, ranunculus and trailing amaranthus gave the ceremony such a soft, romantic feel.

The bride’s bouquet... just WOW! That trailing amaranthus brought the perfect amount of movement and drama to the soft all-white design.

How fun are the bridesmaids’ bouquets too? Each one was designed with just white ranunculus for a simple monobotanical look that stood out beautifully against the soft green dresses.

This role is for someone who already has professional floral design experience and is confident creating everything from beautiful everyday arrangements in our boutique to wedding florals and large-scale designs.

You’ll work alongside an amazing team, creating beautiful flowers for some pretty special moments.

Applicants must have previous professional floral design experience and live locally in the Red Deer area.

This wedding is one we’ll never forget. When florals are made a priority, a space can be completely transformed, and this celebration at the TELUS Convention Centre was the perfect example. Lush white hydrangeas, soft silver accents, and layers of modern floral design created an atmosphere that felt timeless, elegant, and full of impact from the moment guests walked through the doors.

We loved collaborating with the talented team at AIB | event design + weddings to bring this vision to life, and every detail came together so beautifully. We already know this day is going to look incredible through the lens of Brooklyn Caroline Photography, and we can’t wait to see even more of the magic she captured.
