We just got some very sad news from Andrea Baioni, the. FISM International President.

Eberhard Riese has passed away. Baioni said in his message, "Eberhard was much more than a magician. He was a thinker, a teacher, a director, a writer—and, above all, a generous soul who devoted his life to elevating magic as an art form.

Whether in a theater, a classroom, or a jury panel, his presence brought depth, clarity, and a sense of purpose. His passion for stage magic went beyond performance. He helped shape how we think about it, how we present it, and how we pass it on.

Within FISM, he was a constant and valued presence: as a board member of FISM Europe, as a juror at countless championships, and as a trusted advisor whose opinion carried weight not because of titles, but because of the care he put into every word."

Here in North America, Eberhard's book FOUNDATIONS became a popular guidebook about the development and composition of a magic act.

Rest in Peace Eberhard Riese, and thank you for your love of the Art of Magic.

New demonstration category for FISM WCM !

Great things will happen during the FISM World Championship of Magic that will happen this july in Turin - Italy.
For the first time ever we will have a demonstration category added to the World Championship.
This means we are testing the waters, or in this case the streets to see if it is viable for the future to expand the championship.

The demonstration category will be Streetmagic!
Only 20 competitors can sign up for this demonstration competition, apply before April 1st 2025 (no this is not a joke) and be prepared to present a 20-25 minute act during the pre-selection rounds.

It is now official!

Recently a delegation of FISM International was invited to Quebec city by Renée-Claude Auclair who is president of the Quebec Magic Club to inspect the city and potential venues to host the World Championship of Magic 2028.
We are delighted to announce that Quebec City is official a hosting candidate for 2028.

During the upcoming World Championship of Magic this year in Turin the General Assembly will vote between Quebec - Canada and Busan - South Korea.

Important News!

If you are a magician and you are aged between 16 and 25 years, then we have good news for you.

When you are aged between 16 and 25 and you are participating in the FISM World Championship 2025, thanks to the Fred Roby and Angela fund we can give every magician aged between 16 and 25 a scholarship to participate.

Thanks to the Fred Roby and Angela fund we can distribute the amount of 10.000 euro between young participants to help them to participate at the FISM World Championship of Magic 2025.
It works very easy.
If you are a magician between the age of 16 and 25 and you have applied to participate at FISM WCM 2025, a FISM Representative, will contact you and work out all the details, it is as simple as that!

The seven member of organizations of FISM North America created the Max Maven Award in honor of our friend and board member. Max was an inspiration to all of us, and in fact, all of FISM. We could think of no better recipient for the inaugural presentation of The Max Maven Award than Stephen Minch.

We would like to thank Shawn Farquhar for designing and creating this trophy.
