I will forever be a sweetheart table girl. 🥹🤍

Your dinner reception is often one of the only opportunities you’ll have all day to actually sit beside your new husband or wife for an extended period of time with nowhere else you need to be.

Dinner service can easily be 1.5–2 hours, and a sweetheart table gives you this little pocket of time to debrief, talk about everything that’s happened so far, actually eat your dinner 😂 and look out at a room filled with all of your favourite people.

No wedding party conversations happening around you. Just the two of you getting to take it all in together. 🥹

And I always love when the practical details are made pretty, too. ✨

For this wedding, guests had colour-coded place cards indicating their selected entrée, along with personalized menus featuring each guest’s name. The bride custom-made every single menu to correspond with that guest’s meal selection - meaning they were beautiful at the place setting and functional for dinner service.

Pretty AND purposeful will ALWAYS have my heart. 🤌🏻

When your Abu Dhabi bride plans an entire Halifax wedding from across the world… you become her boots on the ground 🤍

Maddy came to me with a vision, a plan, and her team at MENA Live Events already behind her 💁🏼‍♀️

I had the absolute pleasure of stepping in on this side of the world to help bring it all home.

From the months leading up to the wedding, to rehearsals, timelines, vendor communication, approximately one million candles 😂 and making sure every moving piece landed exactly where it needed to on the day - I got to be Maddy & Chris’ local person here in Nova Scotia.

And truly, what a wedding. ✨

Classic Lord Nelson, candlelight everywhere, white florals with the prettiest little touches of blue, a packed dance floor and SO much love in one room.

Maddy, you planned the heck out of this wedding. 🤍 Getting to take everything you and your team dreamed up and be the person here making sure you could actually stop planning and go be the bride was such a privilege.

Ceremony rehearsal but make it fun, efficient and actually helpful 💁🏼‍♀️ (pt 1)

My job is to make sure everyone feels comfortable, confident and knows exactly what they’re doing before the real thing - which means we’re answering all the little questions nobody thinks about until they’re suddenly standing at the altar.

A few of my ceremony rehearsal tips:

✨ Walk slowly down the aisle. Slower than you think. This is your moment - please don’t sprint through it!

✨ Once you’re at the altar, stand close, hold hands and look at each other. Your ceremony is about the two of you .. not maintaining intense eye contact with the Justice of the Peace for 20 minutes. Your guests and photographer want to see your beautiful faces, not the backs of your heads 😂

✨ Know where you’re going after the recessional. Into the house? Straight to cocktail hour? To a private muster point with your wedding party? Just don’t stop at the end of the aisle unless you’d like to be immediately surrounded by 100 very excited guests while your photographer tries to find you.

✨ Ask all the questions! There are no silly ones, and I would much rather answer them during the rehearsal than have you wondering what to do mid-ceremony.

We normally run everything three times - but if we need a few more rounds to perfect the music, timing or processional, we’ll keep going until everyone feels completely ready.

The goal isn’t to make your ceremony feel overly rehearsed. It’s to make everyone confident enough that, when the real moment arrives, you can stop thinking about what comes next and simply enjoy it. 🤍

My Abu Dhabi bride. 🥹🤍

Maddy and I planned her Nova Scotia wedding from opposite sides of the world!! Dreaming up a heavily candlelit ballroom, hundreds of flickering candles and single-stem roses placed just so.

Months of emails, inspiration photos, floor plans, conversations… and a whole lot of trust. 🤍

And then we got to have THIS moment.

Seeing my couples walk into the room we’ve spent months dreaming up together will forever be one of my favourite parts of this job!!

Heavily candlelit receptions are kind of my thing. 🕯️✨

This room featured 200 floating candles, 200 pillar candles, and countless votives layered throughout to create that soft, flickering glow from every angle.

What you don’t see is the hours spent unpacking every candle, filling each floating vessel with water, placing everything just right, and then having an amazing team light hundreds of candles moments before guests walk in.

Is it a lot of work? Absolutely.

Is it worth it when a room feels this magical? Every single time.🥹✨

Still riding the high of last weekend and the biggest creative project I’ve ever taken on.

Don’t worry .. there will be lots more film content to come. 💋

But for now, it’s officially wedding season!!

This is my fourth summer doing what I love, and somehow I still get just as excited as I did the first time.

This week is all about final details, timelines, happy emails, and getting ready to make wedding magic for my wonderful June and July couples!!

Let the season begin!! 🪄✨👝
