In 1959, the Canadian Legion of the British Empire Service League dropped “British Empire” from its name, becoming The Canadian Legion.

On December 19, 1960, Queen Elizabeth II granted royal patronage in recognition of the Legion’s outstanding service to Veterans and communities, authorizing the use of the prefix “Royal” and the Royal Crown in its insignia. In 1961, the organization officially became The Royal Canadian Legion.

It was a packed house for Saturday supper and Dancing Divas Music Bingo!! Thank you to all who came out for supper and music bingo, it was a great evening with lots of comradery, next week we will be having Shepherd's Pie Dinner, see you there!!

Thank you to all who played in our Spring League Shuffleboard. Our League has decided to rename the Spring League to the Terry Saher Memorial Spring League in honour of our dear friend who passed away last year, there will be a trophy or plaque at a later date.

This year we had a 4-way tie for 1st Place, each team won $100.00! Congratulations also to our 'Most Honest' team, they each won $10.00!

Thank you to all who came out for a lovely Mother's Day Brunch yesterday!
