The renovations may not be completed, but we couldn’t resist the chance to create a space for St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival to celebrate another successful season.
Drawing inspiration from Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth, and the beautifully iconic Joni Mitchell, we chose to embrace the contrast of darkness and light with a good helping of boho simplicity.
The weather was being a bit unpredictable, so we thought it would be fun to set up a corn hole game inside. Team Macbeth vs Team R&J.
It was such a pleasure decorating this space for the Shakespeare group. Spending so many months constantly working on these renovations has been physically and mentally draining, but there was such a change when the group arrived, they use the space above us as their dressing room. Hearing the lovely sound of an acoustic guitar softly playing, watching their excitement before and after the performances, and being greeted with cheerful “good mornings” and enjoying the quick chats has been magical. Their beautiful energy brought the much needed motivation to keep on working. Thank you all for bringing so much joy.
