From Powell River to Victoria’s elite U15 stage, Ryder Sherris is building something special in his crease and around the province.
We sat down with the Victoria Hockey Academy’s all-star goalie to talk about the mindset behind the mask, the grind nobody sees, and how young players can actually take the next step.
For Ryder being a goalie isn’t just about pads and saves.
We talk about pressure, isolation, focus, and learning to rebuild yourself after every bad bounce.
Ryder breaks it all down: confidence, preparation, resilience, and what it takes to stay hungry in the JPHL.

Huge shoutout to Silent Ice TV for the footage, (they do an incredible job of showcasing all the players in the league. Another big shout out to the JPHL for giving young athletes real pathways and making it fun, and Victoria Hockey Academy for lending us their keeper for this chat!

Had an amazing meal at put on by the lovely of . Her and her team served us an exquisite Korean inspired meal and cocktails that finished with these sumptuous chocolates provided by . A simply delicious night. Highly recommended. Thanks to all that came out it was a beautiful event.
