Goliath Stage

Goliath Stage Want to get more involved with us? Maybe become an official GOLIATH member? In the past three years, we have made significant progress in each of these areas.

Contact any of the executives listed in the info and take your first step towards a future with GPAS ~ Taking Impossibility to the Stage GOLIATH Stage, founded in May 2010, is an initiative by youth artists in the Tri-Cities area. Our mission is twofold: to advocate youth arts in the lower mainland, and to make performance opportunities for youth artists a reality. First, to advocate youth arts;

GOLIATH Stage provides a name through which we can speak up for youth artists, and give a voice and community presence to those who are otherwise unheard. We represent the interest of the youth arts community both among other arts organizations and public administration. We seek to produce high-quality performances and to bring in an audience, to prove that youth arts are not a curiosity but a marketable business. Our hope is that audience members will go away with a heightened respect for youth arts and young artists. Further, we hope to create and maintain an audience in the community beyond purely the friends and family of performers. Second; to make performance opportunities for youth artists a reality; numerous youth artists in all disciplines struggle both with financing and marketing their work to a large audience. GOLIATH works to take on the administrative workload – giving youth artists an opportunity to stage their work – without having to worry about fundraising, venue rentals, insurance, marketing, tech, and other aspects of the industry which can prevent some artists from reaching their full potential.

Fifteen days until the stage is set for ASCENSION! And what better way to start things off than by a performance of the brother/sister duo, The Awkward Adolescents?

"We've always been a musically oriented family, but we've faced our fair share of hardships. Music has been a very important catharsis for us. It's also been a great way to settle disputes between two very different siblings!
After learning how to read notes and play music, we've fiddled around with and composed a variety of songs. Since then, we've been writing as much as we can. It feels wonderful to channel emotions through music and we hope that the audience can relate with our messages."

Sound like your cup of tea? The ASCENSION Festival runs May 28th - June 1st nightly at 100 Newport Drive in Port Moody. Doors 6:30!
