Here are the updated rules for the 2025 season. Don’t be shy with any questions or if you see any mistakes we can still make changes.

Please see below for the rules we will be following for 2025 season!!! From now on out we will have no more meetings to change rules unless 75% of the pullers in that class come forward wanting a new rule change.

GENERAL RULES
1. Each truck that hooks to the sled must have a fire extinguisher within the drivers reach. With the exception of stock trucks.
2. Drivers must be present 2 hours before the scheduled start time to allow time for registration and tech.
3. Must attend drivers meeting to save confusion during pull.
4. No passengers.
5. No drugs/alcohol.
6. Drive respectfully.
7. No studs/tire chains.
8. All hitches must have a 3"x 3.75” hole and not exceed 26" in height. If a clevis is used it will be measured were the bolt goes through.
9. Any class with hanging weights must not extend past 60" of centerline of the front axle.
10. Hitch must not be attached in front of centerline of rear axle. Hook point can be no closer than 44” from the centre line of the axle.
11. Driveshaft loops are required in every class except stock. They must enclose the universal joint with a minimum of 6” in length. Must be 5/16” steel wall thickness or 3/8” aluminum. If there is more than 3’ between u-joints a support loop is required. Metal or strap material is acceptable.
12. Diesel Classes. Exhaust must exit straight up (Diesel class must have cross bolts in pipe)
13. First puller in class has the option of re-hook.
14. Restart. If the driver makes an attempt to stop before 75’ mark they will be able to make one more attempt.
15. All pulling vehicles with the exception of stock vehicles must have a kill switch that can be activated by the sled operator. The switch must be at least 30” off the ground and near the centre of the vehicle.

GAS CLASSES

STOCK GAS 7300 POUNDS

1. No hanging of weight. Weight must be secured in box.
2. Suspension blocks allowed.
3. Factory duals allowed.

STREET MODIFIED 6200 & 6500 POUNDS

1. Traction bars allowed.
2. Factory duals allowed.
3. Must have driveshaft loops.
4. No dominator carbs/4500 series. Must be a single carburetor on intake. Class will be running a restrictor plate for the season and will be checked at the first event and sealed for the remainder of the season. If repairs need to be done removal will be required at next event for inspection. Restrictor is 1.4” by 4 throttle plate openings or 2.8” opening for a single throttle body.
5.Exhaust must exit behind cab a minimum of 1’
6. Hanging weights allowed.
7. All trucks must retain full sheet metal bodies and all 4 wheels of brakes.
8. Must retain main rear leaf spring and suspension blocks are to be removable.
9. Must wear fire suit and helmet.

MODIFIED GAS 6200 & 6500 POUNDS

1. Must have driveshaft loops.
2. ****Must wear fire suit and helmet.
3. No dual tires permitted.
4. D.O.T. tires only.
5. Must have scatter shield/trans blanket.
6. Only naturally aspirated engines allowed.
7. No large spread bore displacement/Hemi style combustion chamber heads. Measurements will be taken off of exhaust ports.

(Only the Top Truck in the previous class can bump up a class)

DIESEL CLASSES

STOCK DIESEL Max of 9500 POUNDS

1. No hanging weights
2. Any added weight must be in the box. (Securely)
3. Factory duals allowed.
4. No tunes/tuner
5. Blocking of suspension, traction bars and lifts are allowed

*****Cheater Stock Diesel Class Max 9500lbs

1. *Weight to be determined by heaviest truck in class.
2. *Any added weight must be in the box. (Securely)
3. *No hanging weights
4. *Factory duals allowed
5. *Tunes/tuner allowed
6. *Blocking of suspension, traction bars and lifts allowed
7. Trucks in this class are daily driven trucks and must have license, insurance and a valid mvi.

2.6 CLASS 8000 & 8500 POUNDS

1. Must have drive shaft loops.
2. Dual wheels allowed.
3. No nitrous.
4. No propane.
5.**** Turbo size will be checked with a plug. Cover may have to be removed for certain turbos and marked /stamped to save time for next event. Multiple turbos must have atmospheric turbo at 2.6”
6. D.O.T. tires only.
7. Exhaust must exit upward
8. Fuel 1- p7100 13mm or dual cp3
9. Must have helmet and fire suit ( fire proof coveralls)
10. Max wheel base 176”

3.0 DIESEL 8000 POUNDS

1. Must have a break away switch. (Shuts truck off )
2. Must have drive shaft loops.
3. Must have transmission blanket.
4. Must wear fire suit and helmet.
5. Must have a cross in the exhaust (2 3/8 bolts)
6. No nitrous.
7. No propane.
8. Any 2.6 trucks that bump up must have safety equipment.
9. Exhaust must exit upward
10. Engine must be from a factory 1 ton with any chassis combination
11. 3.0 turbo or Atmospheric has to have 3” inlet. Limited to 2 turbo chargers.
12. DOT tires max of 35”
13. Fuel 1- p7100 13mm or max of 2 cp3 pumps

(Only the Top Truck in the previous class can bump up a class)

Lots of clean fill stock piled to build our track extension for this year’s event! The Strait Truck & Tractor Pull Association wants to thank all involved hauling to the site this fall. Steve MacIsaac Trucking, Lowell MacDonald Hardscape, Terry-Angie MacIsaac, NCL, Brilun Construction Ltd, and Norvon Enterprises Limited and anyone else we may have missed - we thank you. NSCC Strait Area Campus for stock piling and working together with us to keep this event a success in the Strait Area 🚜💨
