Living in the commercial/creative services space for so long, I’m not afraid to admit that I do not have a collection of work together. BUT, it’s a goal with the creation of Sundown to get there. Sometimes, you need a good prompt for creativity to grow from.

If you’re an artist or creative—maybe you’re in the same position as myself. Maybe you just need a fun prompt to get moving.

🍂 Call for Artists & Makers | Fall Ya’ll

Applications are now open for Fall Ya’ll, Sundown’s curated autumn exhibition and market celebrating the spirit of the West, the harvest season, and all things fall.

We’re looking for original artwork and handcrafted goods inspired by western life, autumn, harvest, and the changing season.

🎨 Artists
Apply through our website to be considered for the curated exhibition. Selected artists will exhibit at Sundown, be featured in our online gallery, and receive 75% of every artwork sale.

🧺 Makers
A limited number of vendor spaces are available. To apply, email [email protected] with a few photos of your work.

This one was finished a couple of weeks ago, but June was quite literally on fire for me, so I’m finally catching up on sharing a few projects.

This sweet brunch-themed banner was created to celebrate the teachers and staff at my daughter’s school. I had so much fun illustrating the little breakfast details in punchy colours—they really made this simple design come to life.

It also marks the end of an era in a small way. This is one of the last banners I painted at home. As of yesterday, all of my banner supplies have officially moved into , and I couldn’t be more excited to create from my new studio space.

The first half of July has already started filling up with banner orders, but I still have room for a couple more projects. If you’ve got a shower, birthday, wedding, or special celebration coming up, send me a message and let’s make something fun.

Events are all about the little details.

I loved adding this hand-painted banner to a beautiful baby sprinkle. The soft colours tied in perfectly with the onesies, teacups, and all the thoughtful touches that made the day so special.

A mom-to-be deserves to be celebrated, and this one was certainly sprinkled with love by her family and friends.

Custom banners are one of my favourite ways to add something personal to a celebration. July is already starting to fill with banner orders, so if you have a shower, birthday, wedding or special event coming up this summer, send me a message soon to get on my calendar.

Lately, my calendar has been a little fuller than usual—yes, your artwork requests (especially the super fun banners) have been keeping me happily scribbling—but bringing this little studio to life has actually been part of an ongoing conversation for years.

While I’ll continue sharing lettering, banners and projects here at Margaux Bucher Letters, I’ll now have a beautiful creative space to dream, design and create in—and I can’t wait to share more of it with you.

Something has been quietly taking shape after hours. 🌙

What started as conversations between two artists, late nights, creative energy and the feeling that it was finally time to answer a creative calling…is becoming real.

Introducing Sundown—our creative studio space in downtown Port Elgin for making, designing, painting, hosting workshops and welcoming people in for special events and gatherings along the way.

We’re excited to share that our soft launch will take place June 26 during Art in the Alley.

Excited to share this one. Yes, I loved making this banner—I have a lot in common with that silly rat gourmand from the movie. But check out this on-theme spread.

I’m dead, but also feeling very snacky.
