Maple syrup season marks the passage between winter and spring. It’s a moment to appreciate the thaw, spending hours outside, connecting with the natural world.

Our maple syrup is a slow, romantic process of boiling sap over open fire - from dawn until the wee hours of the next approaching morning. It cannot be rushed, and begs us to appreciate the magic of patience.

We use our syrup in many of our dishes as a certain sweet, smoky, magical special something.

Our daughter Clementine also has a healthy maple syrup obsession and most breakfasts in our house there is a bottle on our kitchen table accompanying her favourite dishes.

We also bottle our maple syrup as a gift to our couples to thank them for trusting the process, and to usher them into their new season of life 🍁

We will never get over Emma and Ryans wedding.

'Something Blue' everywhere in honour of Emma's mum, maple syrup everything as a nod to Ryan's family's Vader Maple Syrup Empire, and joy in every experience.

I truly love these two humans and I am so grateful to and for capturing their light so perfectly.

Kathleen and Brad, the sweetest two there ever were.

I remember meeting them one cold day in 2022, and they brought me their favourite chips! If you've ever filled out our contact us form on our website you'll notice I ask what couples favourite chip flavours are, mostly to make them smile, but also it's a fun glimpse as to what they like, and it's always good for me to make it clear that I try not to always take things too seriously. Kathleen and Brad came to their venue tour meeting with their arms filled with chips and I immediately knew they were our people. No ones ever done that!!! A real dream come true.

Besides chips, Kathleen and Brad also live on the street I grew up on, love many of the same neighbourhood spots in Toronto that I love, and are just two of the kindest humans ever. Getting to celebrate them last fall was such a highlight for us. The day before the wedding their best friends came and helped to arrange flowers, and set up the space. It infused the whole chapel with laughter and joy, and intention and I really think it made the whole weekend feel so special. I was honoured to legally marry them, and they'll always hold a little nugget of my heart.

Katie and Jake

These two west coasters trusted us through virtual planning, and even through a computer screen Elizah and I totally fell in love.

Katie would giggle about this mid-summer's night dream wedding she envisioned, with pastels, and bows, with flowers popping up down the aisle, with friends singing them down the aisle, and love stories shared throughout. Jake would quietly watch her come to life narrating her vision and even through a screen you could tell their quiet, patient admiration for one another. These two have known one another since childhood and I think that deep *knowing* was so evident in their day.

Huge shoutout to for knocking these florals totally out of the park. A perfect example of giving your florist your inspiration and letting them play.

This wedding was a whole viiiiiibe. This isn't the last I'll go on and on about it.

We had family playing polka, we had friends officiating, we had a Photo Booth, we had sunshine + rain, we had projections, we had a couple who love each other fiercely and who were focused on having maximum fun.

Donating flowers to a local retirement residence. (shoutout to our OG bff Ellen for doing this for us from day 1)

We love recycling, we love composting, but what we REALLY love is rehoming things! Leftover food? We send it with guests! Leftover flowers? We usually send them home with you, but if you're having an extended vacation, or just don't want to fuss with sorting through your flowers after your wedding we LOVE donating them to local retirement communities. Spread the LOVE.

Portraits for guests instead of a photo booth.

Picture this, you've hired your dream photographer for the day to do your portraits and lots of candids, and you've also hired a portrait photographer for guests. Your guests have portraits that are professionally and intentionally taken, gifting them photos that they can keep for a lifetime.

We envision this in place of a take home gift ✨ Onsite printing and QR codes for guests to have access to high res files.

Trends we LOVE for 2024

#4 Having someone you love officiate instead of a stranger, and doing your signing before or after the ceremony.

There are some incredible officiants out there, no doubt they can transport you into a story, they can capture your attention and create a beautiful ceremony. BUT we happen to think that it's maybe more meaningful to have a best friend or a family member stand beside you in your biggest life moments. It will always be necessary to work with an officiant to legalize the wedding, but it's always optional to sign with them and your witnesses before or after the ceremony as an intimate ceremony, and have your public ceremony performed by someone you love.

S+M opted to have a bunch of their favourite humans walk them through their marriage ceremony and it was a highlight.
