This is what community looks like. 🧡

Last week, the Oyama Community Club was proud to open our doors to the Lake Country Food Bank, local volunteers and the 'Cause We Can program — and what a success it was!

Together, volunteers rolled up their sleeves to prepare and preserve wholesome food that will support neighbours impacted by wildfires throughout BC.

We are honoured to be able to donate our commercial kitchen and facilities to such a meaningful cause. A huge thank you to Joy and the entire Lake Country Food Bank team for the incredible work they do — not only here in Lake Country, but in support of communities across our province.

And this is just the beginning! 🧡

There will be more opportunities to get involved with upcoming sessions, and helping can look like many different things:

🎉 We have a winner!

Congratulations to Mandy Cataldi of Winfield, the winner of this summer’s Lake Country Community Associations 50/50 Raffle!

Mandy is taking home $3,650 from a total of $7,300 in ticket sales. 🎟️

Together, you helped us sell an incredible 10,800 tickets!

Join us for the Oyama Community Club’s Annual General Meeting to hear what we’ve accomplished together over the past year, learn about our goals for the next 12 months and help shape what comes next for our community.

Voting members will also appoint the 2026–2027 Board of Directors. Board nominations may be submitted in advance by emailing [email protected] or made from the floor during the AGM.

Looking for a way to help our neighbours impacted by the recent wildfires? 🧡

The Oyama Community Club is proud to be working alongside the Lake Country Food Bank to bring the 'Cause We Can program to Oyama.

'Cause We Can brings food bank professionals, local chefs and community volunteers together to batch and can wholesome soups, stews, fruits and vegetables for neighbours impacted by the BC wildfires.

OCC is honoured to provide our commercial kitchen and facilities for the day — creating a space where our community can roll up its sleeves and turn the desire to help into something tangible.

Wow. What a day. ❤️

To our incredible volunteers: THANK YOU!! From the pancake breakfast crew and parade organizers to Kid Zone, parking, set-up, clean-up, silent auction, registration, games, and everything in between — Oyama Fun Day simply would not happen without you. 💙 Your time, energy, and community spirit are what make this event so special year after year.

To the local businesses and organizations who generously donated products, experiences, and services for our silent auction and raffle prizes: thank you for showing up for our community. 💙

And finally, to everyone who attended — thank you for coming out, cheering at the parade, bidding on auction items, enjoying the festivities, and making memories with your neighbours. The community spirit you bring are what make Oyama Fun Day such a highlight each year.💙
