On Wednesday 14 October SommWise Inc. is hosting a trade masterclass at the Embassy of Bulgaria in Ottawa. It opens with Edoardo Miroglio sparkling, runs through Zagreus Reserve Mavrud and two Enira reds from Bessa Valley, and finishes on Troyanska aged plum brandy.
Native grapes on the table: Mavrud, Shiroka Melnishka, Gamza, Dimiat and Sandanski Misket. Three w**e regions, eight producers.
Most of this has never had an Ontario listing. That’s the point. You get to form a view before the market does, which is not something this job offers very often.
Who it’s for: LCBO Product Consultants, sommeliers, agents and importers, beverage managers, educators and media. Trade only, 19+.
1:00 to 3:00 pm, Embassy of Bulgaria, Ottawa. No charge, but the room is small and it runs off a waitlist.
