I admire fresh flowers and the fact that they are perishable, indeed extremely fragile and anything but long-lasting. In the world full of hard, plastic, "durable" things, fresh flowers still keep (or at least are trying) us in the moment. That's literally their purpose and that's the tradition behind them.
Flowers have been around people long before Medieval ages. During birth, marriages, death, and other notable life occasions. Lots of things have changed but the flowers and their function remained the same. We adorn ourselves, our spaces, and gift flowers and the fact that they will live only a few days is the most important feature of them. Flowers keep us in the moment. Flowers exist the way you see them only in that particular moment... and in the photo.
The art of flowers that is so temporary yet so natural, majestic, and so ancient.
