The most underrated flower care advice I give every single customer. 🌸

Keep your flowers away from direct sunlight.

I know. It feels counterintuitive. They are flowers. Surely they want the sun.

But cut flowers are not the same as growing flowers. Direct sunlight heats the water, speeds up bacteria growth, and wilts your blooms in half the time. The number of times I have heard 'my flowers died so fast' and then learned they were sitting in a sunny window, it genuinely breaks my florist heart a little.

Find the coolest spot in your home. Away from the window. Away from the heat vent. Away from the fruit bowl. That is where your flowers will last the longest.

What flower reminds you most of summer? I'll go first. 🌸

For me it is a sunflower. Every single time.

Not because it is the most elegant flower or the one I reach for most in the shop. But because my grandmother had them growing along her fence every August and they were taller than me and they turned their faces toward the sun all day long and I thought they were the most cheerful living things I had ever seen.

I cannot look at a sunflower without being seven years old in that backyard again.

Flowers do that. They hold memories in a way almost nothing else does.

It’s Saturday. You know what that means. 🌸

The shop is open. The flowers are at their spring peak. And there is genuinely no better way to spend part of a Saturday morning than coming in and picking out something beautiful.

For yourself, because you have had a week and you deserve it. For someone who has been on your mind. For the house, because fresh flowers on the counter change the whole feel of a weekend. For no reason at all other than it is Saturday and the shop is full and life is short.

We have been here on Richmond Road in Westboro for 36 years. Every arrangement made by hand, every one made for someone specific. That has been true every Saturday for as long as we can remember and it is still true today.

Come in. We would love to see you today.

Two weeks. Multiple locations. One neighbourhood we have called home for over 30 years

We are so proud to be part of Barks and Blooms in Westboro this year. Our team spent days installing floral displays all over the neighbourhood we love. From the Starbucks patio to the Legion to the historic clock to Fratelli’s to Bushtuka and right here at our front door on Richmond Road.

Westboro has supported Flowers Talk Tivoli for over three decades. And we thank you.

And yes. Dogs are absolutely welcome.
