✖️A N N O U N C E M E N T✖️
Ladies and gents, after many DMs, comments and emails, it is time to fill you in on what has been happening at Urban Blooms Ottawa over the past month. Normally, I would be posting today to announce our Mother's Day Pop-Up, however there has been a change in plans!
Over the past year, I have put so much energy, blood (from rose thorns) sweat (from carrying buckets of blooms up and down the stairs) and tears (both happy and sad) into building this budding business and social community. Urban Blooms Ottawa truly became my "baby" and I am so thankful for all the support and encouragement I have received from our clients, followers, friends and family 💜
As some of you know, I recently married the love of my life and this was the beginning of an adventure of a lifetime! At the same time, my husband accepted a promotion which has brought us to ✈️ SEATTLE, Washington 🇺🇸
With just a few weeks notice, it is needless to say that we have been through a whirlwind. As I get older, I have realized that sometimes you just have to jump in with two feet and say YES to new adventures!
This news and big move does sadly mean that Urban Blooms Ottawa will be coming to an end and there will be no future pop-ups for now. This was an incredibly hard post to write, as this has been the most incredible year! The sense of community that has quickly grown around this little business warms my heart and I am so proud that together we surpassed the goals that were originally set on day one.
What does the future look like for me? Leaving behind my 9 to 5 career job and my lovely Urban Blooms Ottawa, means that I have a blank canvas to work with! Once we are settled in I will look for my next opportunity, but Seattle is the perfect place for a budding Florist with all the flower markets and farm fresh blooms! To keep in touch and stay up to date with our adventure, please follow my personal account and stay tuned for the launch of my new lifestyle blog later this month! There will definitely be beautiful blooms making guest appearances! 🌺

A few weeks ago, we completed our mission and made our donation to DIFD at The Royal 💜
When this journey started, the plan was to hopefully make it through one or two successful events and donate $2 per bouquet sold to the foundation in support of mental health. We figured we could raise $100 based on selling 50 bouquets total throughout the year. Little did we know that our wonderful Instagram community would come together as fast as it did and word spread about our initiative. What first started as a passion project in hopes of channelling my creative energy, quickly grew into a full blown business. We couldn't believe it, and we couldn't keep up! My kitchen was more often used for processing flowers than any actual cooking. Late nights spent designing and costing future pop-ups and creating marketing plans were well worth it in the end.
With your support, we were able to end the year long pilot project with a donation of $350!!! And we could not have done this without your help! Words cannot express our gratitude for your support and encouragement! Thank you, thank you, thank you 💜💜💜

YESTERDAY was our 1st B I R T H D A Y!

I cannot believe it has been one year since we set out on this crazy adventure into a world of unknown. Thousands of stems, floral petals, thorn cuts, tax receipts and late nights later... it was all so worth it! Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. And when you have a side hustle on top of a full time job, it is no easy balancing act. But you get by with a little help from your friends and wine 🙈
THANK YOU to our suppliers, clients, community, followers, friends and family for supporting us in this crazy adventure. This passion project bloomed into something beautiful and I couldn't be happier with the results and our growing community of Urban Bloomies!
Together we have raised $350 for since our first pop-up for Easter last year! Thank you from the bottom of my heart 💜

Hello February 💕
This is a month of love, friendship and celebration. February is also Power to the Purple month 💜, where organizations help to raise awareness for youth mental health in our communities. We do our small part by donating $2 of each bouquet sold to the cause, however for the month of February, we are doubling our donation!
