✨ Rare candid where I don’t have seven chins (but let’s be real — more chins = more happiness 😂).

Hi friends, it’s me! 👋 I’ve had a bunch of new followers lately, so here’s a little re-intro. I’m Catherine, the face behind 💕 and this year my little business baby turned FIVE! 🎉

In that time, I’ve had the absolute joy of standing beside so many couples on their happiest day — and every single ceremony has filled me up in ways I never imagined. I just love love. 🥹💍 Whether it’s telling your story, making people laugh, or pulling on heartstrings, officiating is more than a job for me — it’s a calling. This is exactly where I’m meant to be.

A bit of real life: I’m a mom of two tiny humans 🧒🏼🧒🏼 who keep me busy, married to the love of my life for 11 years 💕 and somehow still managing to keep it all together (most days 😅). The juggle isn’t always easy, but oh my gosh, it’s worth it.

Looking back at the last 5 years makes me so excited for the next 5. 🥂 Thank you for following along and letting me sprinkle a little fairy magic into your love stories. 🧚✨

✨ When the light hits just right ✨

I can’t get enough of this space — the Queen’s Lantern at the Canadian Museum of Nature. 🏛️ Growing up, so many of us wandered these castle-like halls as kids, wide-eyed and curious. And now, all these years later, I get to come back to this magical place to celebrate love stories with the most amazing couples. 💍💕

The way the colors glow and the light pours in around 6pm? Pure perfection. (Yes, the museum closes at 5, so we start a little later… but trust me, it’s SO worth it! 🌅)

Forever grateful that this is my job. Truly, the best job ever. 🥰

✨ The past 30 days have been a little quiet on here because I’ve been traveling with my family to visit loved ones in Europe. Today, however… I’m stranded in Germany 🙈✈️ (thanks, Air Canada!).

But no worries — we’ve managed to snag a flight home for all 4 of us later this week 🙌 so to all my wonderful couples getting married this upcoming weekend: I will be there with bells on! 💍💫

While I’ve been away, Merry Fairy has been BUSY! 💕 Sophie has been out there officiating so many beautiful weddings on behalf of Merry Fairy — and of course absolutely killing it because she’s the BEST. 🌸 I’m so lucky to have her on the team.

✨Weddings can be grand, luxurious, and meticulously planned — and I love those. My favorite? The intimate, love-filled moments that feel raw, real, and deeply personal.

Like weddings in palliative care (yes, those bittersweet ceremonies do happen), or those planned on a special date to honour a loved one or share a birthday.

This one? This one was magic. 💫

It was a surprise wedding, woven seamlessly into their son’s first birthday party. Just before the cake, I slipped into the room (you’ll see me hiding in the hallway in the first photo 👀), and they gathered everyone to announce:
“We’re not just here to celebrate our little one today… we’re here to celebrate LOVE.”

Cue the gasps. The happy tears. The laughter. The pure JOY. 💛

Yes, it was chaotic — it was a first birthday, after all — but it was perfect in every possible way. I got to share the story of mom and dad, two people who built a beautiful life together and wanted to seal it with a promise, surrounded by the people they love most.

This is why I do what I do.

Let’s talk about ✨handfasting✨ — one of my favourite ceremony rituals.

It’s sweet. It’s ancient. It’s symbolic. And yes… it’s where we get the phrase “tying the knot.” 🪢💛

You and your partner’s hands are gently bound with ribbons or cords, usually while you make a promise to one another. It can be one cord or several, each representing something different: love, family, your dog, the road trips you’ve taken, the dreams you’re building together. 🐾🚗🌿

It’s simple, it’s meaningful, and it photographs beautifully.
(But don’t worry — I’ll guide you through the whole thing so you don’t get tangled. Promise.)

If you’re looking to add something a little extra to your ceremony that’s heartfelt and gorgeous — this might just be it. 💫

Can we talk about how incredibly gorgeous these two are?! ✨ Not just on the outside (I mean... come on 😍), but also such kind, lovely, and all-around wonderful humans.

They said I do surrounded by their closest family and friends at the stunning new venue—and wow, what a vibe. Think: elegant and modern with a relaxed, joyful energy that felt so true to them.

A little tip from Merry Fairy 💫

That dreamy dip at the end of the aisle? It’s a showstopper — sweet, romantic, and makes for stunning photos.

But here’s the secret: practice it for at least a week before the big day.

Seriously. Balance, timing, footwork — it all takes a little getting used to (especially in heels, a long dress, or a suit with slippery shoes!).

So turn up the music, take five minutes a day, and make it a fun little ritual together. That way, when the big moment comes, you’ll both be ready to dip like pros — safely and stylishly.

P.S. Yes… I have seen dips go sideways. Literally. 😅
