Hey there, wonderful souls! 💖 I wanted to share a little piece of my heart and the incredible journey that brought me to where I am today in the event planning industry.

Please let me show you a magical place called The Sir William Mackenzie Inn. At just 14 years old, I took my first steps into the magical world of events as a server at this beautiful historic site and wedding venue. There was something about this historical haven that tugged at my heartstrings. Over the years, I found myself being drawn back time and time again, soaking up every detail, learning the behind the scenes that makes up the perfect wedding day. 🕊️💍

I think we can all agree that Meredith speaks the purest form of the truth in her explanation of what love is with these words.

Love, especially at the beginning of a relationship or the first days and weeks of after a proposal, feels magical and euphoric. It's a sensation of exhilaration and serenity entwined, where you constantly have butterflies in your stomach and your heart feels full and passionate. All these feelings are what makes an engagement so special.

But an engagement is also a time of dreaming and planning, imagining the life you'll create together. Your conversations during this time are laced with excitement about the wedding, the home you'll make, and the adventures that await.

📸 Why Should You Have Engagement Photos? 📸

I remember when my husband and I got engaged, we were SO excited to start the wedding planning process, and we wanted to capture every part of the journey. Engagements are a magical time, and photo shoots for this part of your bridal journey can be personalized as much as you want. I'd like to share with you my personal favourites for having these photos taken:

1) Memorable Keepsakes: We decided to create a couples' portrait using our favourite photo from our shoot, which we still love today! 👩🏻‍❤️‍💋‍👨🏻

2) Practice for the Big Day: Don't have a whole lot of experience being in front of a professional camera, or do you feel awkward or lack confidence? We definitely felt all these emotions, and our engagement was the perfect time to practice. 👰🏻

3) Getting to Know Your Photographer: Knowing your photographer and building a rapport with them is SO important. Doing a photo shoot with them prior to your big day ensures you have worked out your preferences on both ends. 🤳🏻

4) Quality Time Together: My partner and I LOVE travelling, and we had chosen the Lago de Camecuaro National Park in Michocan, Mexico for our beautiful photo shoot. Visiting this magical place was on our bucket list while we lived in Mexico. Doing our engagement shoot was the perfect opportunity to spend time together doing something we love, and now we have extra fond memories to look back on. 👫

5) Expression of Your Love Story: At our wedding, we decided to show our guests a video of how we met, and our engagement photos were the perfect added touch to our love story, especially for guests who had not seen them yet! 📹️
