Friday, September 30th is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada and Orange Shirt Day - a day to acknowledge the lasting impact of residential schools and honour Survivors, their families and communities.
Orange Shirt Day was created as an opportunity to discuss the effects of residential schools in Canada. It honours and upholds survivors and remembers those that didn't make it home. It represents support and affirms a commitment that Every Child Matters.
Catch Hospitality has donated $1,000 to a local non-profit organization Planting A Seed: Helping Indigenous Kids Grow Planting a Seed supplies back to school bags and supplies for First Nations children living on reserves. Outfitting over 700 kids this year with the confidence to get their best experience in school.
