Meet the Dekker Team:
STACEY CHEYNE - Patron Experience Manager

Role: Stacey is the person behind the scenes making sure events come together and guests have a great experience. From coordinating event details and handling last-minute changes to overseeing box office setup and patron experience, she keeps things running smoothly so everything feels organized and welcoming.
Basically — she makes the chaos look organized while helping create great experiences for both guests and clients.

Fave Dekker Moment: One of Stacey’s favourite moments at the Dekker was meeting Terri Clark on her very first day on the job. It definitely set the tone for all the fun she would get to experience here. She also really enjoys the creative side of things, like making mocktails… even if it sometimes turns into a bit of chaos, like the time she learned you can’t refrigerate coconut milk! 🤣

Did you know: For Stacey, family is everything, and she is usually the one making sure everyone is okay. She loves spending time with family camping, fishing, golfing, or by their pool during the summer months.

At this time of year we are usually getting ready to announce our next season to the community.

However, we have decided to make some changes to the way that we reveal our annual line up.

Instead of announcing a full slate of shows in the middle of June, we will be announcing some shows as singular presentations and others in a grouping of shows released together quarterly for the Fall, Winter and Spring.

This means that multi-buyers will no longer receive discounts for purchasing multiple shows at one time. However, we will continue to offer a student discount of 15% on all applicable shows.

We understand that this could change the way that some of our patrons choose to purchase tickets. Although we are making a significant change to the way that we publish our season, our organizational values are at the forefront of all programming that we do:

KALI WEBER - General Manager

Role: GM extraordinaire -Endless emails, entertainment curator, event consultant, puppet connoisseur, printer repair, hall monitor, bartender, MC, meerkat

Fave Dekker Moment: watching an artist swing trapeze from the fly system at BARKA.

Did you know: when not at work Kali is usually doing her three favourite things: hanging with her cats, crocheting and listening to or watching true crime. She is a budding sour dough enthusiast and an amazing Auntie! If you’re an early riser, you may have noticed Kali getting around town two feet and a heartbeat! She just completed another half marathon, this one in Halifax!

Did you know: you can rent the
Gordon Tootoosis Theatre?

The Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts is a fully equipped performance theatre featuring state of the art sound and lighting systems. An experienced staff is happy to assist in all manner of events including theatre, dance, opera, variety/cultural shows and concerts.

There is also a headset intercom for backstage communication, as well as Green Room and Dressing Rooms with video(green room only) and audio feed from stage.

The fly system is a single purchase, counter weighted system with 37 pipes total. Flying will be done by trained persons at the discretion of the Technical Director. Any items to be flown must be approved by the Technical Director.

The theatre has a Sprung dance floor, and boasts 2 projection surfaces, one 9 x 12 screen midstage and one that covers the full width of stage. It is also fully air-conditioned.

The loading bay is grade level and large enough to accommodate small vehicles and trucks or trailers 35’ or less with any ramp or tail gate extended. Larger combinations can be accommodated for loading and unloading only but the door must remain open.

Currently there are no shore power connections available, fresh water is available inside the loading bay with a pass through, user must provide hoses.
