Full disclosure: I didn’t think I could handle organizing another fundraiser this summer.

Lots of stuff on the personal and professional front had me running the other way (mentally). 🤯

But, when Russia bombed the children’s hospital in Kyiv last month, that was a wake-up call for me. Children are our future, and Ukraine’s children need our help now more than ever.

So, John DeVries and I decided for a “streamlined” STEPPE UP for Ukraine event this year. We planned one self-guided route (~125kms), we are doing the ride this time, and the main water station is conveniently located at my place in Niagara-on-the-Lake. 🌻💦

Our fundraising process is also a lot easier. We have ONE link for family and friends, and PointClickCare (my workplace) has generously pledged to cover all admin fees. That means 💯 of your dollars go to the cause.

We have been logging lots of kms this season, getting to know our Niagara routes and our incredible cycling community.

Thanks for the great Summer Solstice ride, and a huge congrats to those who completed 300kms and 400+ kms. And THANK YOU for the much-needed water station 🙏🏽😅.

STEPPE UP for fathers!
Within 1 month of Russia’s full-scale invasion, over 50% of Ukraine’s became displaced from their homes. 1/4 of Ukraine’s children have fled the country. Many haven’t seen their in over a year. Many have lost their fathers. Thousands of these children have become .

I pushed myself on my solo ride this morning. I kept the fathers fighting in Ukraine for and for a future in my heart. I was remembering the fathers who have lost their lives.

A makes a GREAT Father’s Day gift. .charity and have created programs to support Ukrainian children and their families, many of them who don’t know if they’ll ever see their fathers again 🙏🏽
