Today's project was building a bouquet pickup-stand! Any pre-paid orders will be placed here for farm pickup. My brother's were very helpful getting this done in a day, as the rest of the week will be spent planting, seeding, weeding, just to mention a few things!

Remember the cotton plant experiment this summer?!
Well, this is the result! After many warm months in my sisters greenhouse we finally have these fluffies! It was not productive or even reasonable in any way and it took up way to much valuable growing space, (not to mention having to run the heater for the past 2 months🫣) but it was definitely a very fun trial😁
The cotton balls are full of seeds so next spring we will try again, maybe even straight into the garden to see how it performs there!
But for now we will enjoy the puffy clouds of white before pulling them apart for their seeds. ☁️☁️

The garden is finally all set for winter❄️ The last two months were spent planting bulbs and roots, adding compost and tilling all the beds. Today the straw chopper for the heifer barn came in very handy to speed up the process of laying out straw over the entire garden🙌 All that was left for me to do was neatly rake it into rows. The straw will protect the garden beds throughout the winter by covering the topsoil and preventing it from blowing away, and come springtime it will act as a mulch against weeds which I can later rake into the pathways. Anyways, I'm happy to be all done for the season...now I need to think about my seed order and organizing things for next year, keep following along for updates!
