Join us for a magical evening to celebrate the longest day of the year and welcome the vibrant energies of Summer!

Date: Sunday, June 22
Location: The Palace, Blewett – 4638 Carlson Road
(Next door to The Ranch)

✨ What to Expect:
We’ll gather around the bonfire on community land for an evening of connection, ceremony, and dance. This special gathering will feature a Potluck, Solstice Ceremony, and Dance Journey facilitated by Dance Wave co-founder Amber Rose Tree/Dünya, Apukuna, and friends.

🔔 Schedule:
6:00: Arrival, Potluck, Social
7:00: Solstice Ritual (facilitated by Amber Rose Tree / Dünya)
7:30: Dance Journey (performed by Apukuna)
9:00: Sound bath
9:15: Closing

🌿 Location Details:
Please park on the road and walk down the driveway, turning right at the fork to reach The Palace.
Arrive by 6:30 PM so we can begin this shared journey together — latecomers are still welcome. Carpooling encouraged.

TONIGHT! Mochilero liberates our movement this Tuesday 20th

Inspired by the creativity, interconnections, and diversity of the natural world, Mochilero strives to evoke a feeling of oneness on the dance floor by weaving together melodic, uplifting and soulful grooves. Mochilero hosts dance events that serve to create a space of joy, solidarity, and connection amongst participants and marginalized groups through The Greater Groove. “I intend to take dancers on a journey of flow that weaves melancholic and euphoric house beats from around the globe. I want to inspire connection with oneself and with the energy of the whole.”
Having become a household name in the Kootenay ecstatic dance spaces, Mochilero knows how to inspire movement on the dancefloor, and we’re stoked to have him lead us on a journey again this Tuesday 20th.

Chris Shewchuk brings the vibe this Tuesday 6th

Chris (formally ‘Ursa’) discovered a deep love for ecstatic dance over a decade ago in the conscious community of Edmonton. Since then, he’s embraced the art of blending carefully curated tracks with the craft of mixing to weave uniquely inspiring creations. Having quickly become a fan favourite of Dance Wave, we are thrilled to have Chris come out of “DJ retirement” for a special Wave this week to share his signature sound based in the best of organic electronica forming a foundation for journeys traversing genres, cultures, space and time.

We are stoked with how these dances are growing and grateful that this offering resonates for so many in our community. Please feel free to share this email with anyone who may benefit from these mid-week dances (especially for those who are under 18 or over 70 who can enjoy free entry, always!).

Wildwood guides our flow this Tuesday 29th

Nadine Wildwood is an ecstatic dance DJ, sound facilitator, yoga teacher and lover and builder of conscious community. She underwent her training with Dance The Medicine, and continues to expand her knowledge and experience in the realm of ecstatic and conscious dance. Her mixes weave an assortment of multi-genre tracks that invite the body to move and groove, the emotions to be felt and released, and the spirit to ground and fly.

Wildwood is passionate about the healing properties of music, sound and vibration and we’re stoked to have her guide our journey once again this Tuesday 29th!

Dance of the Earth this Tuesday 22nd feat. Dünya and Mochilero

This Tuesday 22nd we celebrate “Earth Day” with a special evening featuring a guided ceremony by Dance Wave co-founder Dünya () and dance journey by Mochilero.

Boudicca guides our ride Tuesday 15th

Come along on a magic carpet ride! Boudicca (Bernice Raabis) is the founder of Dance the Medicine, an international team of conscious dance professionals who are on a mission to teach DJs and Dance Facilitators to eager Ecstatic Dance creators world wide. Boudicca’s specialty; long smooth intros, delicious outros, with a mixed tempo/genre set in the middle.

Come and dance to music which infects all parts of the body, with unexpected twists and turns being the only predictable part of the journey this week at the North Shore Hall with the accomplished Boudicca.

Amber Wolf Moon illuminates our dance this Tuesday 8th 🌕

Amber Wolf Moon has been mixing ecstatic dances for 7 years in different places around Western Canada. She started Ecstatic Dance Jasper and upon landing in Nelson was offering weekly ecstatic dances that brought community closer in an intentional way. She continues to weave conscious dance journeys in her retreats and group ceremonies, and is the co-founder of the Sunday morning dance offering Dance Portal here in Nelson.

Amber’s style is eclectic and worldy - inspired by her travels around the globe this past decade. The invitation is to bring an embodied prayer throughout the dance journey where you will feel uplifted, sensual, silly, playful and free to express all your emotions through authentic movement. Amber is also a Somatic Therapeutic Counsellor who has fine attunement to the nervous system of the field that is executed through her dance journey and her intention is to bring us into embodied liberation and togetherness. So if that sounds like your vibe, join us this Tuesday as we celebrate the wonderful cross-pollination of dance offerings in our humble mountain town.
