If it’s raining - join us across the street at St. Andrew’s Hall 👏

For Saturday July 25th Sounds of Summer, if it is raining we will hold the concert at St. Andrew's Nanaimo hall. If it’s sunny, you can find us at our usual spot in Heritage Mews.

The free concert is on from 1pm until 2pm. See you there! 🎶

The Offcutz
Saturday July 18th • 1pm @ The Mews in Old City Quarter

The Offcutz is a Ladysmith-Nanaimo based cover band serving up a tasty mix of folk, outlaw country and rock songs. This ragtag group of music lovers brings their unique energy and chemistry to every performance, covering iconic artists like The Glorious Sons, Old Crow Medicine Show, and Johnny Cash as well as contemporary folk-rock favorites like Fred Eaglesmith and John Prine. With their authentic instrumentation and infectious enthusiasm, The Offcutz deliver a rootsy, foot-stomping good time that'll leave you singing along and craving more.

We are so excited to welcome The Bills to St. AUC Events Centre for the Sounds of Summer Kick Off!

This incredible evening is going to bring music, community, and celebration right into the heart of the Old City Quarter — and we are honoured to open our beautiful sanctuary for such a special event.

✨ Artist Feature: Cari Burdett ✨

We are thrilled to have the incredible Cari Burdett kicking off the Sounds of Summer Kick Off Party on June 27th at 6:00 PM!

Cari is a vocalist and songwriter whose music beautifully bridges singer-songwriter, jazz, world, and art song — all brought to life with an expressive, theatrical presence that is truly captivating. With classical training, deep improvisational artistry, and a gift for emotional storytelling, Cari’s performances are known for their honesty, spontaneity, and connection.

A graduate of McGill University and the Royal Academy of Music, Cari has performed as an orchestral soloist in works by Bach, Beethoven, and Mahler, and has presented her own original music with full orchestra. Her debut album Magnolia earned a Western Canadian Music Awards nomination for Best World Album, multiple Vancouver Island Music Awards nominations, and she was awarded Vocalist of the Year.

Cari performs with an all-star ensemble of acclaimed musicians and has appeared at celebrated venues throughout BC, including Butchart Gardens. She is also the creator and producer of the beloved, sold-out Winter Solstice Concert Series.

Her forthcoming album, Where Is Love coming in 2026, is an intimate and expansive collection of original songs exploring love as a force woven through nature, relationship, and the human experience.

Come early and don’t miss this stunning opening performance. Cari Burdett will set the tone for an unforgettable night of music, community, and celebration in the Old City Quarter.
