A local lawyer, Pam Johnstone from the Family Justice unit of Court Services with the NS Dept of Justice will be doing an outreach presentation around family law processes (starting a court application, getting legal advice, options for proceeding through family court, etc) and programs and services that are available. Join us at the Old School for this free session funded by the Mental Health Foundation as part of our Musqui After Hours program. Please note that it is an evening session to accommodate as many people as possible.

All sorts of great takeaways and nuggets from today's workshop on growing tomatoes.

The big one? Mulch! Straw, grass clippings, shredded leaves, and eel grass are all fantastic options. Aim for a depth of roughly two to three inches.

Mulch blocks out weeds, keeps the soil cool, and prevents soil born diseases from splashing up onto foliage. But the big advantage of mulching tomatoes? You reduce water evaporation, and that means less work and more water conserved during dry spells. Mulch is a game changer!

It was graduation day for some amazing young people in our Youth Employment program the end of May after 14 weeks of training, support and work placements. Thank you to Porters Lake Pub, Assuage Wellness, Ataraxy Goat farm, Mount Traber, MH Library, Sober Island Brewing, Computers for Schools and the Deanery Project for their quality work experiences as well as their patience and mentorship. Next program starts the end of August
