For the past 1.5 years, Nicholas has been a driving force in our kitchen — bringing creativity, passion, and dedication to every dish. What he loves most? That no two days are ever the same, and each service brings new challenges and inspiration. ✨

While his coworkers describe him as “chaotic but dedicated,” outside the kitchen you’ll find a very different side — calm, quiet, and happily working through word, number, or logic puzzles. 🧩
Coffee or tea? Both, depending on the mood. Favorite travel destination? The breathtaking Rocky Mountains. Fun fact? Nicholas has lived and worked in Dawson City, Yukon — famously known as the land of the midnight sun. 🌞

Meet Steve – Guest Services Manager

Steve has been with Windermere House for 18 months, working his way from Front Desk Agent to Recreation, and now leading our Guest Services team. He thrives on creating memorable experiences for every guest and loves collaborating with our team to make each stay perfect.

Fun facts: despite his dad being a professional soccer player, Steve isn’t a soccer fan. He’s a vinyl enthusiast, collecting rare records and turntables, and he lives life fueled by Coca-Cola (never coffee or tea!). His favorite travel destination? Anywhere his wife is. Coworkers describe him as… particular – in the best way.

Meet Chef Emily – Our Executive Pastry Chef 👩‍🍳
This summer marks Emily’s third season bringing her creativity (and a little bit of “mad science”) to Windermere House. As our Executive Pastry Chef, she loves dreaming up desserts with bold, unexpected flavors that wow our guests.

When she’s not in the kitchen, you’ll probably find her curled up with a good fiction book and a cold drink in hand. Fun fact – Emily studied pastry in France, a dream experience that continues to inspire her work every day. Around here, she’s known for her inventive spirit and a passion for making every sweet moment unforgettable.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Meet Matthew
Matthew joined Windermere House at the beginning of the summer as a lead server, with a few days spent supervising. Since then, he’s taken on a key role in overseeing banquet events and weddings, bringing both leadership and attention to detail to every guest experience.
With a background that includes two years in Nassau, Bahamas as a restaurant manager, Matthew brings a global perspective and passion for hospitality to the heart of Muskoka. He values the opportunity to work in such a beautiful setting—one that many only dream of visiting—and finds daily inspiration in the views, the atmosphere, and the team around him.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing guitar, golfing, and staying active in the outdoors. His colleagues describe him as motivated and selfless, always leading by example and offering support wherever it’s needed.
