One of the vendors we don't currently have within our Regional Tourism Organization (RTO) 12 is a place to purchase wedding dresses and other attire for members of a wedding party. There is Elliott & Olivia in North Bay (RTO 13a) and Ever After Bridal Boutique in Orillia (RTO 7).

I ("Holly Matrimony" Weddings) and many of our GMIM networking group from RTO 12 exhibit in the show that Ever After produces called The Lake Country Wedding Showcase. Shelby is in a vendor category that likely experiences much of the same challenges we face in Muskoka because when (many of the) couples who want to get married north of the city get engaged, if dress shopping is on their checklist, it's often done closer to home. If the weddings are happening here in our regions, it would be really nice if we could retain more of the wedding budget to reinvest into our local economies instead of having someone take it back to their local economy.

Hale Muskoka has finally released more information on their plans for the property and weddings. See information here and download the brochure. They will be at the upcoming Muskoka Wedding Show on Feb. 7 at the Muskoka Steamships & Discovery Centre. There are still some spots for folks interested in this annual show - especially a cake baker, someone in wedding attire, caterers, niche products. This isn't a truly local to muskoka show like my concept but it is a show that I truly enjoy exhibitign in and I always find my people in the mix of attendees -

Deja vu, December's is cancelled. I would rather you all stay safe and off the roads with the changing weather conditions.
