Hello all!
I have some news that I’d like to share. It’s bittersweet, like most change is.
In January 2024, Finer Spirit grew from being an annual summer music festival into a full time venue.
Finer Spirit as you know it, will be moving out of the St Paul’s United Church building (March 31st) and will be going to back home and to its true intent as a music festival this summer. Thank you to the congregation for sharing your space with us.
We (Duane, Megan, and myself) knew that this step was an ambitious one. With support from all of you we were able to host many concerts showcasing so much local talent, and held space for community. That is a dream come true for me in itself.
Owning a business is not for the faint of heart and to be honest was never my goal.
What I wanted was to take initiative and bring compassion and art into the community I call home.
This call was not made lightly, and I had to do the work of sitting and looking the ugly emotions of disappointment, failure, and embarrassment right in the face.
But as I worked through this, and surrendered my own feelings and ego, I received peace with letting go. 2024 brought me to my knees, quite literally. And I was blessed to have my eyes opened, and see how the burden of prioritizing my business was taking my love and energy away from what meant most to me.
So it’s time I slow down, folks.
There is so much freedom in realizing you can try new things and be content with it not looking the way you expected. Life is too short to be miserable and stuck.
Chase those dreams, learn those lessons, and be open to the beauty that each day and season has to offer.
But! We can still hang until the end of March… swipe to see upcoming events! If you’re an artist and wanna squeeze a show in, lmk!
I love y’all, God bless
