A smaller wedding is an excellent way to splurge without breaking the bank
If you narrowed down your guest list to less than 20 guests to create memories with the people you value most, then this post is for you.

Consider these four options for your intimate gathering.
1)A RESTAURANT
A turnkey option might be exactly what you need if you want a simplified schedule. This formula usually includes the place, food, and furniture rentals.
2) YOUR BACKYARD
Who better to reflect who you are than to invite your guests to your home?
Your backyard will turn into a unique and memorable experience.
3) PRIVATE HOME
Make your event into a weekend getaway by renting a property.
Make sure that the owners are aware of your activities and are comfortable with your plan. Nobody wants the police to crash an event!
4) ART GALLERIES
Art galleries are frequently overlooked but are very versatile.
The option is great if you're into modern design or minimalism! You can also choose this venue if you wish to have a cocktail-style dinner.

Confession of an event designer

Let's talk about client's behaviors 😬

If there was a Tinder for clients, I would go for the relaxed, easy-going, type B personality.
But because it's impossible for me to control every aspect of our client's behavior occasionally, I'll get a client who will expect me to do exactly what they want because they're paying.

My general philosophy in life is to let the experts do what they're good at.

That's why I always give my vendors some latitude in the way they execute.
I would never discover the full potential of a concept if I acted as though I had all the answers.

It is the same for clients.
I am here to push your boundaries, to give you an unexpected result!

Here's my hardcore truth 🎤🎤
Expecting me to do exactly what you want implies that you can do it yourself.
This type of behavior creates limitations and produces a so-so result
Neither of us wants that.

Therefore, make sure you communicate and trust the professionals that you work with.
In doing so, it will establish the foundation for a healthy relationship that will allow us to go above and beyond.

Bottom line: Trust the experts because they know what they're talking about!
What type of client are you?

Did you know that planning your wedding by yourself is the equivalent of 5-7-weeks of vacation?
The only difference is that there are no daiquiris and no sand beaches.
However, there is a lot of work to be done!

According to Martha Stewart (don't shoot the messenger), it takes about 200-300 hours to plan a wedding yourself.

Since you're not actually tracking your time, you may not realize it.
We come with a lot of quick wins and shortcuts

However, the time it takes to search for vendors, call them, visit venues, send emails, reply and follow up to emails, requesting quotes ...at all quickly adds up.

Of course it's possible to achieve when you're already busy with work, family, and social activities, but is it worth giving up the precious little spare time you have? That's the question!

If you're still on the fence about hiring an expert to help you plan and design your day, ask yourself if you'd rather sacrifice your vacation time.

CONFESSION OF AN EVENT DESIGNER
Double mic drop today 🎤🎤

As service providers, we have an obligation to explain what we do better, for sure.
But to hear that "I find you too expensive" is shocking especially for the outcome you want😳

Serving our clients involves a great deal of work and sacrifice ( ask our past clients they'll tell you 😉).

I've done things in my dreams that aren't even quantifiable, like a complete design or even last-minute changes while taking a shower.

But a relationship in which I do not feel valued is the last thing I want, trust me.
So if you can't afford the service just say that.
It's alright, really!

I don’t welcome too many people in my inner circle⠀
and because I value quality over quantity, I don't mind having a handful of friends. ⠀
⠀
But am grateful for the few I have and the positivity they bring to my life. ⠀
For getting me in check when I need to hear it and for being an instrument of God when I need clarity ( the chronicles of an overthinker continues 🙈) ⠀
⠀
I keep going forward knowing that my steps are ordered and that I'm not alone. ⠀
I have a friend in God, but he also placed awesome people in my life to encourage me, to help me push myself, and to become the best version of myself. ⠀
