🌕 Charo Foo Tai Wei transforme les silences en danse et les cicatrices en gestes.
📆 Yearning, du 3 au 6 mai

Formée en danse classique chinoise, initiée au butô, elle sculpte un langage sensible, à la lisière du rituel et de la révolte.

🌀 Dans Yearning, elle creuse vers la lumière comme une plante affamée de ciel.
Ce solo magnifie ses luttes intérieures – contre le racisme, le sexisme, la violence – et rêve d’un lieu où elle pourrait enfin s’ancrer.

💧 Sur scène, elle incarne cette force fragile: celle qui fait croire que tout glisse… alors qu’à l’intérieur, tout brûle.
✨ Une invitation à reconnaître nos propres blessures et à les danser vers la guérison.

🎭 D’Ex Machina au Stratford Festival, Charo transforme chaque espace en terre de vérité.

🌿 Portée par ses racines ktunaxa et écossaises, Samantha Sutherland tisse la mémoire et l’avenir en mouvement.

📆slip away, du 3 au 6 mai

✨ Avec slip away, elle danse le deuil, l'espoir et la promesse d'une langue qui refuse de s'éteindre.
Ce solo est habité par les voix de sa famille: la guitare de son frère, les broderies de sa mère, les mots de sa grand-mère.

🌊 Que reste-t-il quand les mots glissent entre les doigts? Samantha trace un chemin de lumière pour le ktunaxa.

🎭 Vue sur les scènes du Centre national des Arts, de Fall for Dance North et de Dance Made in Canada, Samantha incarne une danse vibrante d’héritage et de renouveau.
Aujourd'hui, elle partage son art et ses racines comme associée artistique à O.Dela Arts et professeure invitée au Centre for Indigenous Theatre.

🧵 Dans slip away, Samantha Sutherland tisse un solo poignant sur la disparition du ktunaxa, une langue autochtone en péril. Entre deuil et espoir, sa danse est portée par les voix de sa famille, la guitare électrique de son frère, les broderies de sa mère et la mémoire de sa grand-mère.

🌱 Dans Yearning, Charo Foo Tai Wei fait jaillir la lumière à travers les ténèbres. Racisme, violence, résilience. Sa danse, telle une plante qui pousse malgré tout, révèle la beauté fragile de la guérison.

🧵 In slip away, Samantha Sutherland weaves a poignant solo about the endangered state of the Ktunaxa language. Between grief and hope, her dance is carried by family voices, her brother’s electric guitar, her mother’s embroidery, and her grandmother’s recorded memories.

🌱 In Yearning, Charo Foo Tai Wei brings light through darkness. Racism, violence, resilience. Her movement, like a plant growing despite it all, reveals the fragile beauty of healing.
